Her class is a "treasure of God" put a picture of each child from the class in one frame with the class year and that title as one gift. She will cherish the memory of that class. You could also get her a gift certificate to a teacher supply store (esp if it's Christian school and she needs to buy her own supplies) or a book store. Teachers love to read! Just a thought!

I teach Elementary school kids Art. I usually get mugs and candy on holidays. So, I wouldn't go that route. The best present I've gotten from a Kindergarten class was a poster that a parent had helped the kids make. She asked the kids what they liked about me and then asked them to draw a picture of me. She gave each child a 2" x 2" piece of paper and crayons to do this. Then she took a piece of poster paper and wrote a letter addressed to me from the class. It said all of the things the kids liked about me and Art. Then she glued the drawings onto the border of the poster. You could do this and then get a small treasure box from Walmart and put a gift card in it from her favorite teacher store.

This is an idea that our school used and it helped us alot as well as the teachers. The teachers made a list of their wants, sizes, colors etc. The homeroom mothers collected the money the kids brought in usually $1:00 or so and then they would shop for the gift. Teachers don't get paid much and something special for them instead of alot of things they can't use is welcome.
Those of us were happy for the idea especially when we have several children. What kind of gift could we have gotten for $1.00 that would have been so helpful to her or him? The kids loved it too.

Dunkin' Donuts gift certificates. Coffee to the teacher is a god send in the am or special treats. Put them in a decorated box from a craft store, have the kids make a picture and decoupage it on, felt the inside of the box, or get a pretty made up box from Pier I, they have a lot of ancient, festive boxes that she can use for a knick knack and sign the bottom with everyone's name from the class.

Let the students contribute a short (kindergarten) sentence and/or picture depicting why she is treasure of God and include it with a gift certificate for the mall (take up a collection). Trust me, teachers have lots of mugs, etc

How about getting a treasure chest from a local craft store . You can find many inexpensive ones. Include, small candies, pencils, erasers, paperclips, post it notes, rubber bands, high lighters, . Plus you could buy some white stones and have each child write one word on their stone in black permanent marker. These will be "treasures" that will last a lifetime!

A scrapbook with pictures of all the kids in the class. Maybe even get each child to write something or draw a picture for the teacher.

go to Wal Mart they have chests for about a dollar that are unfinished. Have each child write her a letter to put in her treasure chest......soemthing that she can treasure forever. Then have all the kids sign the chest on the day that it is presented to her.
A vase, cross, angel.....................and have the kids sign it with a permanent marker so that she has a memory forever.
The best gift would be for you to go in throughout the year and take pictures with a digital camera... Thanks for all the treasureful memories you hae given us. Get them printed and make it into a scrapbook for her. Have each child decorate a page wrting about why she is so special.

Go to the Oriental Trading Company's site and order something from their catalog or crafts catalog..Their crafts projects are reletively simple, and not expensive. When I taught, I always looked there to make something that was cute for the kids. The have items in relation to what you are wanting as well.

when i was in the fifth grade my mom and i made my teacher a gift basket with a pair of mugs and some good coffee. you could also use tea of coarse and then we made some coasters with those potpouri beads you can get a walmart in the craft section in them. they were like tiny bean bags. that way when she sat her hot cup on them it made the smell come out. it was resonibly inexpensive and it she really liked them. you could add a note in there with something like treasure the quiet momnets GOD gives you.
