Think "tarbaby".
Clingy means it/he/she sticks to you in annoying ways, and the more you try to dislodge it/her/him, the more entangled you become.
Brrrrrr.

If you are "clingy" it means you are too attatched to something. You "cling" to it. You are all over it all the time. Many times it is referred to someone being clingy to someone else. They want that person with them all the time, try to be around them all the time and seem desperate to keep them. Or, if your clothes are clingy, they are sticking to you.

that's the word that woman use as a catch all phrase excuse when they are sick of the guy they are going out with,or they have someone else that they are interested in and she is trying to get rid of you.
So they use the word"clingy" to describe you, even though the other guy she is seeing is wrapped all over her,but that doesen't matter because women do no make sense.
I offer my condolences to you if a woman described that word to you..just to let you know..she has someone else she is interested in and is trying to get rid of you..
She probably said something like ,"I need some time alone to think things over and time to myself"..
Believe me ,that is just an excuse to give her time to see how things will go with the "new" guy she is interested in.
My advice to you is to stay cool and say "ok"..and act like it doesen't even bother you,go home, leave here to enjoy her new found "unclinginess" stature..and wait for her call, because she is sure to call you back once she finds out that the "new" guy isn't you.
Good luck..and use this time to go scouting for a new girl .
