Well, I am sure the recipes you have found here are good. However, if you want a true hot dog chili recipe you will have to make Cincinnati Chili. Its nothing like the stuff you get at Dairy Queen or other places. We have literally at least a few hundred restaurants locally that specialize in this type of chili! Its awesome and is worth trying. There is a recipe and history at the URL listed below. Hope you like it!

it all depend's how hot you want it ? so take the chili (powder or fresh! ) to your taste !!
(meat)
4-lb's ground beef -w/at least 10-20-% fat
(dry)
mexican chile-powder-as desired (i use 1-cup )
(new mexico chile (prefered) )
cayenne pepper's (ground ) 1/4-cup
cumin (ground ) 1/4 cup
garlic & onion powder - 4-tablespoon's (full)
4-tablespoon's masa harina or cornmeal blended dry w/ 2-teaspoon's of corn starch
salt-(rock - if you got it ! )
anyway-a big kettle ,fry the meat and dry stuff until browned then add the water cover and simmer till all the flavor's come together !
at this time you need ,a big yellow ,sweet onion, jalapeno's (the one's w/the vein's on the outside are the hottest!!) 24-oz's tomatoes ,tomato's ,sour cream-or-1/2 &1/2 to cool it down (to your taste) add as you go and you'll be amazed at what this concoction will do to your cooking skill's honest!!!! let the taste bud's lead you (good luck!!)
