America citizens have been cowardly targeted by terrorists culminating in the 9 September 2001 attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. No country should stand down and allow such acts to go unanswered. The terrorists and those who support them are the enemy.

I support the military incursions but would have done far more. For example the United States (as well as other Western nations) should have begun an emergency project to become energy independent from any oil producing country. This would have ended the purchasing of any oil from the Mid-east and that would have collapsed their economies and turned those countries into economic disasters and internal revolution.

Large segments of these terrorist focused cultures desire all others to be like them or cease to exist, there is no in between.

What no one seems to want formally recognize, is that the United States has the military power to end these attacks in a single day, but it chooses to not use such power, desiring instead to create a situation in which the people of these countries can elect their own government. That is, people would not be dictated to by some self proclaimed religious fanatics. Even so, while cultures such as the Kurds appear to value such individual freedom, most do not in that they wish to continue fighting between the religious sects as well as fighting all others in the world not like themselves.

who knows if we will ever have the answers as to why any country goes to war. you could sit and ask the entire world why one country thinks this way, why another thinks that way. most of us little people have to go about our every day life to put food on our table and keep a roof over our heads. it doesn't really matter if we think it is wrong or right because us little people don't make those decisions. whether we agree or not, is not going to change what governments top people decide. in any country. do we think a government that was in iraq is right for murdering women in soccer fields? there doesn't seem to be a solution for centuries old ways of thinking, the reasons for lots of things are only known to the ones doing it.
