I'm sure that it is a good idea - then you would find out that a lot of stuff you knew was wrong, and most of the rest is propaganda from your own culture.

Yes, many including my own. People of every culture have things positive to share and things of such horror that you can't help but be struck dumb by it. Just because I do not agree with someones beliefs does not mean I do not have respect for their intelligence or artistry or anything else that defines them as a wonderful creation of GOD.

You can't research cultures and still dislike them...normaly things that you think are strange and dislike at first hearing seem normal and logical if you research the culture and history

Yes, I have a fascination with Arabic culture, I am much more enlightened about it now but I still have the hardest time dealing with their general attitudes toward women. Otherwise I agree with you.

kind of. some kids were on here yesterday provoking people about animal cruelty. Read their q+a page and allot about dog fighting came up, and they were very protective about a certain side to it. I knew nothing about it so i could not pass judgement, so i decided to do a little research into dog fighting to gain some knowledge on the subject. The outcome............ I still think it is a truly barbaric "sport" and anyone who participates should be ...........

Jehovah's Witness and Scientology. Although I now understand why many people join these groups. I still dislike them. I just dislike them less.

yes, take Christianity it seem like a very decent cult until you unveil it's bloody past, I still respect people even if there views are different, except car salesperson's
