I don't know about the the atkins diet exactly as your supposed to do it but I lost 72 pounds in 2 and a half months with my own atkins variance. For the time i ate no more than 5 carbs a day and ate a lot of meat. It sucked after a few weeks meat tasted like **** but it was all worth it and i haev kept it off for six months now actually lost a couple more pounds i just stayed away from soda and sweets after. You can eat all the meat, cheese, eggs, you want on the diet just damn near nothing else. good luck

A friend of mine did the Atkins and it worked wonders for her. The catch to all these diets, is to learn from the diet, not just follow it and then when you reach your weight you stop dieting. You will put all the weight back on plus more. She started to put the weight back on a few months later, so she went to Jenny Craig to keep it off. It's never just the diet, it's changing your habits.

Best diet I've ever done.
After two weeks people were complimenting me on weight loss/better skin/generally looking alive & healthy.
I hated the idea of the diet, but I'd had friends who did it and looked fantastic for it, so I gave it a whirl.
Really, really great results, and I didn't do it 100%. I still chose lower fat versions of things.
The diet is so restrictive you can't stay on it and still work/look after a home/care for a family etc. Staying on it for life is only possible if you havea lot of time and a lot of money. Unfortunately as soon as I came off the diet all the weight landed straight back on... :(
I hadn't actually modified my eating patterns in any useful way.
Still a great diet for quick results though.

it does some time...because you eat more protein..You should know that Doctors Atkins passed away, was very overweight and his cholesterol level was very high. His company went bankrupt. The idea of diet is to eat more protein stuff like meat, cheese, eggs and so on. But, when you eat bacon for example, it has protein and fat. Atkins didn't work out how to burn the fat.

Atkins works, but gives you bad breathe, bad wind, constipation and if you don't drink plenty of water, kidney problems. You would be better changing your life diet to a natural balanced one and exercising regularly, there are no quick fixes.

Atkins saved my life. Seriously and I am not joking. For 30 years I was bulemic and tried every diet on the planet and to lose one pound I would have to starve myself to 500 calories a day or puke all my food not as a benge as they say bulemia is but to try and lose weight or not gain it back. I am very short only 4'11 and to eat like a normal person I would gain so fast it wasn't funny as I had destroyed my metabolism.
2 1/2 years ago I thought about going on the Atkins as I wanted to lose weight fast. I got the book and began to read it. (The single most important thing before beginning any low carb program) Wow this made more sense than anything I have ever read. I realized that this couldn't be a diet for me but I had to change my way of eating for life.
My husband and I went on this together. I lost 50 pounds and he lost 80. This took rather very little time to lose it too. Yes right at first you do have goofy breath but it's ketosis where your body is actually burning the fat up. You lose fat on this way of eating more than muscle like you do when you starve yourself.
It isn't all about eating fat as many will try and tell you. It isn't unheathy either, isn't bad on your kidneys and Dr. Atkins did not die of a heart attack but from a fall on the ice on his head. He did not have high cholesterol and his company went bankrupt due to promoting high priced junk food he never agreed with but they put his name on. I have never eaten so healthy in my life or felt so wonderful. For 2 1/2 years I have never made myself vomit once or felt the need too. I can eat and eat as much as I want until I am comfortably full. I never have had to count calories, portions, eat only celery or salads, but real food!
To me if there could be a perfect way of eating this is it. But you have to decide before beginning this that those high carbs aren't worth it. If you approach this as your depriving yourself you will never stick with it. It's all about substitutions. I want a piece of cake, I make a cheesecake with walnuts for the crust instead of graham crackers and splenda in place of the sugar. Very legal on and I will not gain weight.
I have weighed 110 for over 2 years, a perfect weight in my mind for a 47 year old woman, never weigh myself but recently went to the Doctor because of a sinus infection and I haven't gain one pound and EAT! Let me tell you I eat! Yippee!

To be honest with you there is no such thing as diet to loose weight.
Cut down fatty foods and do a lot of exercises 2 to 3 times a day.
IT seems hard but once you do it you ll love it and youll never turn
back. No such things as miracle diet.
