it does some time...because you eat more protein..You should know that Doctors Atkins passed away, was very overweight and his cholesterol level was very high. His company went bankrupt. The idea of diet is to eat more protein stuff like meat, cheese, eggs and so on. But, when you eat bacon for example, it has protein and fat. Atkins didn't work out how to burn the fat. You might have shrunk when start it....because you cut off carbs..But shrinking and lose the weight for ever is not the same.

I lost sixty pounds since march by cutting out sweets, soda (of any kind) and drinking green tea. I stop eating before I'm full and I take one a day weight smart vitamins. I limit my carbs, but do not follow atkins. If I'm super hungry, I'll go for the meat or protein rather than the bread or potatoes. Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but this worked very well for me. I exercised a lot at the beginning, but I haven't been, and the weight still comes off.

Yes, it works for me. However, you have to be careful about what you eat pretty much forever to keep it off. Carbs are everywhere and it is hard to avoid them without getting really bored with what you do eat, in my opinion. It also works best when you do a lower-fat version of Atkin's (chicken vs. bacon, for example...). If you like meat a lot and salads and some veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, to name a few of the few) then you will adjust well. Good Luck!

i wouldn't do it, id say the best way to loose weight is eating 3 square meals a day as long as they are healthy, cut out snacks, replace with fruit, drink plenty of water, go to bed early and exercise, you dont need to go mad with the exercise. gradually you will loose weight rather than dieting, loosing weight fast and feeling tired and weak!
