Hi i am a nurse there is so much hype about mrsa, it would only infected your acne if you have been in contact with someone with mrsa and you have been picking your spots so they are open letting the infection travel in, or unless you don't keep your face clean, mrsa is only dangerous if you are recovering from an operation, frail elderly or have a low immune system

You need to address you question since acne is the consequence of a physiological problem and infect is a verb, to infect something such as human or other animals, a consequence can not be infected, hence your question should be MRSA- does it causes acne not infect acne
to answer your question, first of all you have to know what acne is, it's bascially a skin problem for which the glands under the skin are over reacting with antigents. since you know that there is numerous lymphatic vessles in the lower face, those acne appears to be red is because the increased flow of blood where the white cells are concentrated. MRSA can infect the skin but it will not just cause acne, it will cause a much serious problem. the reason why is antibiotic is not working on acne is because sometimes it's not just bacteria that cause acne in the face, there are other substance which can cause immune response. some people who have acne is because the flow of the lymphatic vessle is not efficient for which dead cells and bacteria are not removed from the lymphoid tissue but somehow stuck in the lymph along the mouth which cause acne. it will take forever to explain the causes of acne, what you have to understand is that the cause of acne is not by bacteria along, hence MRSA is unlikely to cause acne.

MRSA can only get in your body via acne if you come into contact with someone who has MRSA and then touch your acne.
It should not make a difference to the healing speed of acne.
Sometimes people think they can "cure" acne with simple potions and lotions, but true acne is an internal problem, sometimes caused by candida or hormones.
Antibiotics (usually docicycline) and Ro-accutan, are the two strongest drugs, and even those only cure 98% of sufferers.
But no, MRSA should not affect it.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

If an individual has a weak immune response to the bacteria, a MRSA infection can result even with no apparent open wound. The symptoms can range from skin boils to necrotizing fasciitis, popularly known as "flesh-eating disease".

I agree with your first answer from the nurse. There is lot's of hype about MRSA, just like there is about the bird flu. Acne can only be treated successfully by a dermatologist. Best of luck to you........
