stole about 100 dollars out of the cash register at work (retail), then she never went back. She just wants to know if she can get in trouble by the cops, if she never goes back?

That depends...did the boss call the cops on her or what? If not then maybe she can do the RIGHT thing and pay the store back..make restitution.

I hate thieves..makes prices go up!!

Hmmmm when people say 'my friend' has a problem they sometimes mean themselves...!

As for getting in trouble, just because 'your friend' doesn't work in the store anymore, it was still theft! Suppose it depends on a few things, did the shop owner know it was 'your friend' and have proof, have they reported it etc

Flee to Mexico I reckon. Your friend that is.

yes she will get in trouble. the thing she can do is to go back and act like nothing happened. and if there are, take all the copies of the tapes for the videos cameras for that day.
