Yesterday I read a report on a newspaper. One evening a motor cyclist grabbed a necklace from a girl's neck and wanted to get away. But he was found out by a car driver and the latter chased him with all his might. During the pursuit, the car ran into the motor and the cyclist fell from a bridge and died. Then I wonder if the car driver is guilty.

Ok. Let me declare the outcome. This thing happened in China last year. The driver was awarded in the end. But recently the dead's family asked for the compensation.

In American the car is a deadly weapon and cannot be used to harm or kill someone over a minor theft.

Also if the person following was breaking the law in his driving, he could be charged with that also

And the family of the theft could most certainly sue in a civil wrongful death suit.

So the person who chased him would get fined most likely some jail time and a large law suit

Whether he was guilty or no is irrelevant, the guy on the motorcycle can't grab any more necklaces. Since the motorcyclist's family demanded compensation, I would think the only humane thing would be to push them off the same bridge.

In America? Yep, the burden of proof is actually agianst the car driver that it wasn't homocide as he displayed intent against the cyclist. You aren't free to take the law in your hands, reguardless of right or wrong.

Yes the car driver is done! It was a stupid move, and dumb luck. The driver is guilty as hell even tho his intentions may have been good. Some people don't think before they commit acts of serious consequence.

Yes he is guilty. Vehicular homicide. What, you think every citizen should be allowed to go around taking the law into there own hands? If the citizen had to get involved , he should have followed at a safe pace and reported the criminal where abouts to the authorities.
