Male cats are more likely to roam, fixed or not. They are independent by nature, so it's not a surprise that he isn't back yet. If he's out there, he'll eventually come back. My sister once had a cat that only came back once every month or so. It happens. He could have been killed on a road, but it's more likely that he's just out roaming. If he hasn't moved in with someone who won't let him outside, he'll be back.

Most outdoor cats live an average of two **2** years, usually ending their lives under the wheels of a motor vehicle. The VAST majority of them are kittens, which balances the average against those few timid cats that manage to live several years.

This is the most likely reason your kitten has not returned or been found - he must have managed to crawl under a bush after being hit and is slowly bleeding to death. Or whomever hit him tossed him in the trash already. In most municipalities, there is no legal requirement for the person finding your injured or dead cat to inform you.

If you want your cat to live 20+ years instead of 2, make him an indoor animal!

I also had lost my kitty when he was about 6-7 months old. Its very likely that he's somewhere around your house or neighborhood. They do not go very far. One thing to do is keep their litter box outside because they can smell their scent from the litter. Cats are very resilient creatures, they can go days or weeks without food. Place postings around your home and attach a phone number, a picture of your kitty also helps. I'm sure he'll turn up. Good luck to you!!

Well a cat has to eat in a week. So obviously he's found someone else to feed him.... Try putting up some lost signs around the neighbourhood. Maybe someone will bring him home...

Probably taken in by another family. But cats are well known for having more than one home.

Check with your local human society to make sure someone didn't think he was a stray and turned him in. Sounds like he may have a new home....

Chances are he'll be back, when he gets there have him fixed and keep him indoors, it's cruel to have an animal and let it run the streets...
