far east was looted by forigners from europe and my neighbours long time ago. Still the looting is going on but in a different way. The wealthy countries were masks to loot the countries like Thailand. They spred different things to achive there goals. After the Vietnam war Cambodea became the poorest places in the earth. USA did distroy the greenery and economy. Politicaly they were left behind. Its the Neighbour to Thailand. Buddisum is one of the majour religion in Thailand. And tourisum is the main attarction in the country. So this two things dont go together. Tourist come for different enjoyment.
So Thailand have no choise. Buddisum is becoming a religion. Its not a religion. Its a theory. search in Google and read about it. I'm christian because my mother is a christian. If my mother does prostitution to protect me . I will not blame the Jesus.

People become prostitutes for many reasons. Some are forced into it...trafficked slavery (unpaid), baited and switched (promised decent work, then sold). Some are immigrants from impoverished neighboring nations, and have no working rights, thus no other choice. For these people, the situation is desperate and sad.

Some perhaps some simply live on the edge, don't know how to manage money, and need cash quick, but in a nation with large families (support networks) and a relatively strong economic and agricultural base, especially compared to Laos, Cambodia, and Burma, tolerant and many freedoms, relatively high gender equality, this is not the major cause, as in other nations, such as ex Soviet nations where family bonds have broken down and family size has shrunk...

Many people blame poverty ignorantly, as if all poor are susceptible to prostitution, but this is not the case, as there are other jobs which pay enough to survive on, but they are considered unattractive. Most Thai who become prostitutes ARE willing and simply are attracted to it because it seems like quick cash and easy work, fun (including sex), and soon become addicted to the lifestyle or money. Money is everything in Thailand, and a prostitutes deeds are redeemed with payment to their relatives, friends, etc. Some prostitutes get to travel and live abroad, fly to vacation spots, live a lifestyle only their peers dream about, or perhaps to fund a drug habit, they will stop at nothing, not HIV, not Buddhism, not their parents concerns, and certainly not self worth, to attain what they want. They get to essentially live like superstars or the rich.

The police and government meanwhile know its big business and collude to allow it to happen on such a large scale, along with pirating music, software, etc, and other "technically illegal" things in thailand.
Thailand is not vast like China, so that which happens happens on purpose. Bangkok residents promote "tolerance" of prostitution and pedophilia as a Buddhist tradition, however, in reality real Buddhists frown upon prostitution as a major sin...as evidenced by more conservative country values.

The women selling themselves are doing it as they are in one of the poorest countries in the world. The state religion has nothing to do with it.

Because it is the world's oldest profession. It will always be around as long as religions and society in general continue to condemn natural sexual urges. Even the most extreme Muslim nations have prostitutes, you just need to know where to look for them.

Once everyone is as sexually open as the Dutch and Swedes there will no need for them. After all how many natives in Amsterdam visit local prostitutes?

What do you want them to do sell themselves for free, because they're Buddhist?
You know what you're talking about happens everywhere and has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with money.
I think it's sad.

i think of it rather is with the aid of the reality "quickly" women human beings at the instant are not probably quickly. So, sexual charm does not have a accepted function in mating. as a count of actuality, they could be relationship different women human beings if sexual charm had the comparable "weight" it has for gay women human beings to boot as gay and quickly adult males given the reality "quickly"· women human beings own a gay perceptive bias related to sexual acceptance and inspect, hence, the female physique extra aesthetically friendly/sexier/much less complicated on the attention/extra thrilling/etc. IMO, "quickly" women human beings characterize the worst of the worst whilst it contains romance (egocentric, gay leaning yet irrationally self defined as "heterosexual", hypocritical, emotionally distant, sexually indifferent) and we would desire to attain quickly adult males have been given the shortest end of the stick related to sexual orientation.
