Hi,

Downloading music in Singapore is illegal after the enactment of the Copyright Act.

There have been 2 publicised cases of individuals being jailed for the action of downloading music. Its not really the police who are monitoring by there is a body that oversees this.

The Singapore network is not monitored 24hrs a day but rather, in conjunction with all the various Internet Service Providers.

I believe for the two, they went to the house and conducted a search before arresting them.

Downloading music is not illegal. Piracy for sale is the one that is prohibited.
