Hello Shay,

I written this earlier but I'll post it again:

To speed up your metabolism all you have to do is not skip meals,
Exercise daily
Build your muscles
Avoid alcohol, sugar, and fastings
Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.
Eat foods with high nutrition values
Add hot pepper to food. It is amazing what something hot and spicy can do for the metabolism. Hot peppers not only increase metabolism, but also help the body burn off fat more efficiently. Organic hot salsa is best.

I would also recommend taking a look at this site:

Try eating 5 to 6 minimeals a day- about 3 hours apart. Aim for a calorie level between 1400 to 1500 per day. This will help speed up your weight loss a bit and may push you through your plateau. Many weight loss experts and athletes use this approach to lose weight. Just make sure your minimeals are healthy and nutritious.

Also ask yourself if your goals are realistic. You sound like you are at a very good weight for your height and your muscular build.

Woah, congratulations! And yeah, hitting a plateau is awful. What I did when I hit one was drinking coffee, change my diet (carbs if you used to eat proteins and vice versa), took vitamin c which interferes in the metabolic process and took magnesium and calcium suppliments before going to bed (i was scared, but minerals and vitamins have no cals!) I did some research and tested on myself, so I know what i'm saying :-) And for a dreadful plateau I allowed myself to 'normally' eat, even binge one day (and took a weight loss tea after the meal) so that my metabolism would receive a shock. Good luck!

What about an egg white omlete. or maybe some oatmel, the organic grain variety is maximum proper. total grain toast and fruit. something that you'll eat quite. attempt to eat 4 or 5 smaller food an afternoon to maintain your metabolism going all day lengthy. exercising is a strong way too.

Breakfast within 30 min of waking is proved to raise your metabolism by 20% for the whole day!
Also you didn't mention swimming if you aren't swimming laps every once in a while, try it. Switch up from crawl to backstroke to either side side stroke. I thought I was buff till I went for a lifeguard certificate!

A friend of mine was a body builder. He told me that eating constantly all day long (he called it grazing) increases your metabolism. Of course you can't be eating sweets or fatty foods. He told me he kept lettuce with him, and it worked for him. Best of luck.......

Keep doing what you're doing...Sounds like you have simply reached a plateau that should soon be over. Increase your water intake.
