you need the serial number, clearly visible, on a piece of note, that still has dye present, take it to BANK, as in the tube station, there u will find the bank of england, they will accept it.. enjoy

As far as I am aware the bank can validate the silver strip in the note , being able to see the serial numbers would help too.
How the bank goes about it though I have no idea

you will find that on the face of the note, there is a number on the left of it and one that is the same on the right, as long as these match, you sould be ok, best thing to do would be to take to a bank.

The watermark, the foil strip and the queens head need to be intact, but take to a bank, shops may query.

As far as I know you need one whole serial number and part of the other one.
