That's easy, dictate a letter to the guy, have your friend that wrote it for you, mail it for you too. That way you feel distant enough to be safe. Be sure and tell him you know he is shy and that you are too, so you went this route to open up a conversation. Tell him in the letter to please tell you in person he got the letter if he would like to get to know you, or just avoid you if he is not interested. That way you made the first move by telling him it is OK for him to make the first move. Neither of you is at risk for being put off. Even if he never responds you know where you stand; but don't face public humiliation. Good luck

I guess if you are both shy then no one will make the first move unless you try. So gather all your courage and ask him out for maybe something as simple as lunch, followed by a movie or something. If you are brave enough to post this question online, where everyone can see it, I'm sure you will have the courage to ask a shy guy out. Just believe in yourself and go for it. Good Luck !!

i'm a shy guy myself and i know what you mean.i can never work up the nerve to do it myself.you may try to assure him in some way, like leaning closer or making eye contact and dropping hints that you like him.it's hard but at some point somebody has to get brave, i hope you figure this out, maybe you could give me some tips too.

Boost his ego,and self confidence.Tell him how wonderful his good traits are.That should give him a push in the right direction.If that doesn't work,shy or not your going to have to tell him how you feel.As tough as it may be,if it comes to losing him or stepping up and taking your best shot,only you can decide what it's worth to you.

and if u r not fully 2gether yet when ur talking 2 him smile and look him in the eye and if u cant do that look in between his eyes and it will look like u r... he wont be able 2 say no
