Hello There .. first of all, take out of the house everything that can be lifted out. If you have space outside, put it all there. Now, go back inside your house and slowly room by room, take a good look at the walls, ceiling, paintwork, woodwork, and flooring.
Do any of the rooms need a lick of paint, if there is anything which is still in there damaged and needs repairing? (these are questions which you should write down and in turn give yourself points or comments). Go to you bathroom, shower, loo etc. take a very good look in there.
Have you got any plants in your house? Are they dead? alive? or you are not sure? Be careful here, did someone give you it? If so, be sure that it is beyond help.......
Light fittings, take a good look ....are they doing what they were intened to do? Can you refresh, replace or leave them. Don't forget, clean away cobwebs in corners etc.
The way forward these days is minimum furniture in house....
Clutter is oldfashioned, ugh get it out.
The less clutter you will find is far easier to clean. Also, with the remaining articles you have, you can now re-arrange your interior.
If you have carpeted floors - could live without them. Have you considered wooden flooring, it is warmer that you might think. Also, are your curtains or blinds in need of cleaning or even replacement. Blinds can work well, you dont need the dreadful patterned ones, plain, wood look, smallish rods.
Bathroom/loo etc. can anything here be rejuvenated?
If you are happy in general with what you are looking at.....good, now, whilst you are in this cleaning/clear out mode.....go out to where you have placed everything. Again write down what goes where and now the big question??????????????????DO YOU REALLY NEED THIS, WHEN DID YOU LAST USE IT, IS IT OF ANY USE EITHER.?????????????????
Difficult one I know, but be really strong about this. DO NOT be talked into letting your worldly goods go if you happen to have someone else helping you. You need constructive advice at this point.
You could turn this adventure in a really good event. Don't throw everything away at once, hang on to some items which you are not sure about and then have a good long think.
Make some drawings of how it could look. A little paint can do wonders. So can hot soapy water.
If I lived near by I would offer to help you.
So, there you have it, good luck and dont forget what ever you have hanging on the walls................do you like it, love or hate it??

A very good idea for you, take out everything you don't want or need box it up and go to a bootsale in your area, and sell it, you will get rid of your clutter and make some money, your clutter you don't want, but someone can make use of. Try it

Yes, go minimalist or close to it. get rid of ornaments. keep quality stuff - get rid of anything cheap. it's amazing how much easier it is to keep clean and it looks better and more spacious. You could always take a load of stuff to a car boot sale and make some cash - if it's that kind of clutter. If you want a few oil paintings on canvas and board and other odds bits I haven't disposed of let me know - maybe we do a clutter swop! lol

yeah the first obvious idea is to get your butt of the chair switch off the pc, and get going, get huge binliners and mark one 'charity shop' mark the other 'rubbish' this way you can sort it all out.
dont attempt to tackle the whole house at once. start with one room and take a break regularly. play some nice upbeat music while you are working and trust me you gonna feel so good when its done.
there are lots of websites on de cluttering, go to google and type in the word clutter. good luck.

Have a clear out. Ebay or carboot anything you no longer need or use. You'll have a less cluttered house and more money.

Downsize to a smaller house, assuming you don't live in a bedsit already!.
You'll be amazed at how much junk you leave behind.
Have a car boot sale.

try getting some of the plastic storage containers, that stack on top each other, they hide a mutitude of sins, and you can keep all your useful crap that will be used in the future. They're quite cheap aswell

get your stuff on ebay- or even better take it to a charity shop (other than Oxfam, because they shredd clothes, which I know for a fact) then you will feel like you have done your good deed for the day.
