I never get tired of the following questions:

1. Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
2. Why don't they make the plane out of the same material as the black box?
3. Why do airplane seats have flotation devices and not parachutes?

Keep them coming, folks, I swear to God I laugh uncontrollably every time I read them. Pure comedy!

Kamikaze pilots did wear flying helmets for two reasons:

As already noted, in order to ensure they arrived in the target area safely.

To coordinate their attacks. (The radio headphones were located in the earflaps of the helmets.)

You are technically in violation of the community guidelines --http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines.php --because you didn't ask a question. You came up with an assumption (they wore helmets) and made a statement in a run on sentence.

If they did wear helmets, the reason must have been to ensure that they were still heading towards their target, instead of passing out by banging their head on something....before mission was accomplished.

Well, with the iraqi's they don't like to be called rag heads, they claim that they are wearing 'small sheets' so let's be polite and call them "Sheet Heads" instead. Same mentality as the kamikaze's.

i'll answer the question the jibberish you wrote most resembles.

all i have is a best guess however, and that is assuming you arre correct about them wearing helmets. i would assume that the helmets were intended to prevent injury that could prevent the pilots from carrying out their mission.

they wear the same stuff regular pilots do. look at pics of kamikaze pilots just before their flight, you dont see them wearing any hard hats do you? its more likely they're flying on a prayer... literally!

THe head gear was not for protection per say, it had built in head sets connected to the radio. for communication.
