Being an X Chef, my policies with Canned Tuna are as follows:- Under No Circumstances HEAT up Canned Tuna. This was drummed into me with a sledhammer (metoforically speaking) by my tutor at catering college and subsequent health directives sent to establishments I worked at that heating up canned Tuna is dangerous and is totally against health & hygeine rules....SO WHY ARE YOU DOING IT

to HP G, basically without going into the scientific bits of this which will bore the pants off everyone....Heating canned tuna is dangerous because it activates tha bacterial properties contained within when the canning process was made, its the same with any tinned fish UNLESS it is stated on the can that you CAN heat it up...this is an entirely differently canned food... Go grab a tin of Tuna and LOOK to see if it tells you ANYWHERE on that can HEATING instructions....IT Don't...therefore it should NOT be heated

Look sister, I don't heat up my canned tuna to serve it hot
and eat it. This is not my way. Actually, canned tuna should
be eaten cold: Here's how I prepare or use it:-
1. Open up the can and remove the tuna completely and
place it in a bowl. Add chopped onions, red chilies, salt
and pepper for taste and mix them well with the tuna until the
tuna is fully shredded.
2. Place the whole mixture in the bowl in the fridge to cool
for about 2 - 3 hours.
3. Prepare thousand island salad with slices of tomatoes,
cucumber, onions rings and carrots.
4. When ready to serve, take the tuna mixture out of the
fridge, and spread it over some slices of wholemeal bread
with some slices of tomatoes, cucumber etc added on top,
thus making it into a triple-decker sandwich burger.

Drain the tuna and mix with a blob of mayonnaise and some finely chopped spring onion or chives and serve in a baked potato with plenty of butter. Simple , easy and delicious. Serve with a little chopped mixed salad sprinkled with olive oil.
