I think that bullys are really insecure about themselves. They put others down to feel better about themselves.

It's easier to bully smaller people than bigger people but it's often for power or control The bully often have a low self esteem and require conformation of their strength or superiority I was one of the smaller people and found some of the bullies were less intelligent and used to pick on smart kids to hid their weakness
How to stop it is a question I have no answer to

Bullies are cowards. They are unsure of themselves and it gives them an ego boost. They do not necessarily bully people smaller than themselves - they just bully people that they think that they have an edge over.
So, yes, I guess that it does make them feel bigger and better.
Some have more money and think that that works. They are invariably very selfish people.
If you, or someone that you know, is being bullied, then try to work out why they feel inferior. Once you know that, you have the upper hand and can stand up to them.
Give us all more of an idea of the situation and maybe we can all help a bit more.

Here's the deal. If those smaller people found even smaller people, some would do the same to them. Trying to feel superior seems to be a part of the brain's makeup. After all, our brains are still evolving and there are portions that will wilt away once our environment changes for the better.

because they don't have the guts to pick on someone their own size and as they are pathetic. they think that by resorting to bullying people who they deem as being inferior to them it makes them a more smarter and confident person, when really they are arseholes and their brains are the size of a pea. however, unless they change their ways and become a better person, in later life they will always be a loser and end up as one who is never to go achieve or become a success at anything.

because bullies are generally people with a low self esteem who believe that they have power over others. It's best to stand up to them.

In my experience its small people who are the bullies. They`re oversensitive about their lack of height.
