My cat has had every injection going as I found her when she was 4 weeks old in Spain and brought her over to England she has also been spayed as they can not travel unless they have all vaccinations and things. it cost a lot of money so don't go calling me an irrisponsable. I am not sure we even have cayotes in the UK. Lot of people allow their cats out. It was fine this morning at 7am when she went out. i do not have her our at night and she is fine. We have a large garden and live next to a park. She doesn't even stray far and has never crossed the road as she has no need to.

This constant noise is just strange as she is usually a timid quite cat shes not one to sit on your knee.
I have given her attention
Played with her
fed her she has had a drink
I have changed her litter incase it bothers her
she has been spayed (Nov 2003)
I have looked at her and nothing seems to be wong so this crying is odd.
Also the rain does bother her she just hates been out in it. I have looked in 3 books I have and they were no help.

PRINCE THAT IS HER NAME HAS CRIED HERSELF TIRED NOW.
SHE HAS TAKEN HERSELF TO HER BED (SHE USUALLY DOES THIS) AND SHE JUST IS SAT THERE WITH THESE BIG EYES. SHE HAS NO VISABLE SIGNS OF INJURY I HAVE GIVEN HER A GOOD CHECK OVER AND SOME SPANISH HAM. (A TREAT FROM HER HOME COUNTRY!) ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO SHE HAD A STOMACH PROBLEM WE TOOK HER TO THE VET SHE HAD SOME MEDICINE 2 INJECTIONS AND HER TEMPRATURE TAKEN I AM SURE SHE LEARN FROM THAT NOT TO EAT ODD THINGS. NEXT DOOR TOLD US AFTER THE VETS THEY THOUGHT SHE HAD EATEN A FROG FROM THEIR POND.
I HATE IT WHEN SHE CRIES AND NOTHING I DO CAN HELP

Hi Sarah...there are so many variables as to what could be causing your kitty to cry incessantly and scratch your carpet to pieces. I have to assume that if she took a drink of water and perhaps ate some crunchies that she isn't having any physical distress. However, that could be misleading as cats mask their pain quite well. If she accidentally ingested some toxin outside that could cause odd behaviours. This certainly would warrant a vet visit to examine this further as some toxins such as antifreeze can be fatal. However, if she was terribly frightened outside (e.g. vicious dog, cat, person, loud object) then it may take her some time to calm down.
Is there a vet clinic open today where you are? Some cities have Saturday clinic.

Well, immediatly my first response was that she is in heat- but you cleared that up. I'm a cat person. I grew up with cats and have my own now. My two babies inside that never go out (and don't want to) as well as feeding and
worming the neighborhood strays that live mainly on one of my balconys. You seem to have covered everything that I would look for. If you can calm her down enough to relax her and rub every part of her body to make sure there are no injuries - bites, deep scratches. She possibly
saw something tramatic.... Coyotte catching and killing one of her own maybe? I lost an 11 year old big fat baby to a Coyotte. I never let my cats out at night anymore. The coyottes are not bad here during the summer. In the next couple of months, I will be reminded of the yelping from small dogs, screaming of cats and the strange noices that I can't figure out - raccoon, rabbitt, ..... You mentioned Coyottes, she has to have seen something that really upset her. She's not young - like a kitten scared - she's scared for a reason - there's something out there that she saw and she's trying to tell you about it.
If you have a good relationship with the vet (sounds like you do). I would ask for some "tranquilizers". They don't have to be like they sound, just something to help calm her. I gave both of my girls tranq's when I moved last year. That was just to calm them and help them with the move.
Your girl has seen something that she can't forget, something that scared the crap out of her!

You have a very personable cat!
I had cats at one time that were inside/outside cats...they lived to be eighteen, sounds like you watch them carefully enough, cats are always getting into something outside though, and it may be a good idea to start thinking about keeping her inside, which will cause you a whole other set of Issues because she is now used to going out.
It sounds like she saw something while out in the garden, or in the Park, and she is being territorial.
Being in a different surrounding can be devastating to your little feline friend, and though you have had her caught up on her vaccinations, she still may have contracted something outside, your best bet is to take her to the Vet and get her checked out, it wouldn't hurt.
It could be as simple as a parasite, or another cat/animal that she is telling them that this is her space. Regardless if she is in heat or not.

Oh the poor dear and your angst is understandable.
Unfortunately we pet lovers can only barely begin to understand what's troubling them after we go through a few similar experiences and learn it the hard way. As its difficult to figure out from what you say such an incident has occurred for the first time and it would be best to take her to a veterinarian.
In all probability your cat has a bad tummy or has had a fright or something. Your friendly vet should know best, don't waste time trying to figure out on your own - God forbid, it could only get worse.

You did not say how old the cat is or if she is spayed. If she is spayed, then something happened to her outside, so she has an internal injury or something. I hope you are feeding her canned and dryed food and as always, a fresh bowl of water. It seems that what is wrong is something that only a vet could diagnose. Good Luck. P.S. Don't let her out anymore, keep her an indoor cat. Keep her safe.

Either she's not feeling well or is in pain (in which case only the Vet can diagnose whats up - give them a call and ask their advice).
Or she can hear something which is freaking her out/interesting her - animals can sometimes hear things that aren't audible to humans.
Or she just wants some attention/to be played with.

Poor little thing; thank goodness for decent people like you who care enough to help her. I think a visit to the vet might help; she could have a blockage in her bowel or bladder, which is excruciatingly painful and can be fatal. It is clearly not normal for her, and she is taken very good care of, so I think thats all you can do. Perhaps she is scratching your carpet because she needs a bowel movement which she cannot pass, in which case she needs urgent help. Good luck.

It could be that she is associating the rain with a thunderstorm and doesn't like them. We have a dog that acts a bit strange when she hears the rain.
Is there any chance that she is pregnant? The carpet scratching sounds as though she might be trying to make a 'nest.'
If she is still doing it, please take her to the vet - right now. Just because you can't see anything wrong doesn't mean that there isn't anything wrong - let the expert tell you!

there are limits to what we can see or feel as pet owners when we check our cats to see what is wrong.
You need a doctor to draw blood and run the chemistry to see if there is a problem with one of her organs that may show up in bloodwork. Also a scan like Xray or ultrasound could reveal an internal abnormality. If kitty is still in distress, you could save her life by letting a medical professional use their skills and tools to investigate the problem

I think that cats are psychic and can see future events, my sisters cat was meowing all day long and kept jumping on her bed even at 2am in the morning then my sister had bad news that our father had died that night, that was in 2002, then last year the same thing happened again and she had bad news that her father in-law passed away in hospital, so perhaps your cat knows that you will hear bad news about something.
