I'm a vegetarian, btw, so if I do this the only things I'm going to be giving up are pasta and junk food.

Thanks in advance for any good and/or helpful info! : )

cheers,
Shauna!

Shauna, you have to have your protein. I hope you are getting your dairy products and/or combining the right vegetable proteins to get that. Among other things, protein is ESSENTIAL for maintaining muscles, growth, immunity, etc. An all-fruit diet simply will not provide the nutrients you need for good health.

You shouldn't do it for more than a week. You will be lacking a lot of things that you need such as protein. Why not just lay off the pasta a little, and eliminate the junk completely. You need your veggies and legumes to balance things out. Good Luck!

you need to talk to a nutritionist before starting any diet. Not all nutrients we need are in fruit alone. Iron for example is (except for meat) found mostly in green leafy vegetables like spinich.

Before limiting what you eat, know what nutrients your body needs and what foods you can find them in. It's FAR better to eliminate the junk food, reduce your portions to a healthy level and excercise daily than it is to eat only 1 food or 1 type of food.

By the way... an all-fruit diet is going to mean a LOT of bathroom time.

I can imagine it's not very healthy. You need a balanced diet of whole grains, fruits, veggies, and protein. That way you don't become depleted of vital nutrients. Fruit cannot provide everything your body needs.
