There is alot of men and women of God preaching that Jesus Christ will not return and that the signs times is near but Jesus made it clear that they are distinct. He reviewed a series of signs that do not herald the end but consistently characterize life in the Christian era.

The passage you refer to has to do with the great tribulation of the last days and the deception is listed in the verses that follow. It think that a more important concern for us is the deception that is taking place in this age. I have been a Christian for 60 years now and have watched the church change. Christianity in the last 20 years has totally changed for what is was prior to that time. There is very little similarity to it, and although it is not my place to judge the differences the astounding thing to me is that in one or two generations people's thinking (the whole christian world) can completely reverse and things that were totally wrong are right now and things that were right then are now wrong. Someone is deceived, wither Christians for the first 2,000 years of church history, or Christians of the last 20 years. Since the Bible says it is in the last days that "men will not endure sound doctrine" I am really inclined to think the church of the last 20 years is the one that is at fault and "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you;"

A closer look we see "If it were possible". The Elect won't be decieved but in my opinion it is Jesus' way of describing just how deceptive these false prophets will be.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

It is the end times, when Satan rules as the Antichrist. The Antichrist deceives the whole world that he is the Christ, and even that he is God!
And if given enough time even the elect of God would be deceived!

The plural sort of atheist is atheists. in case you could teach why there desires to be an absolute evil and an absolute solid that would desire to a great deal enhance your argument. in any different case, you're in basic terms making unprovable statements. the final deception is which you suspect your god is benevolent.

False Christian denominations are the great deception.

We are supposed to worship God; YHWH..Jehovah..The Father..Almighty God.. alone, not worship a denomination or a church.

In Revelation 2 and 3 Jesus addresses the 7 symbolic anointed congregations alive at the beginning of the 'Lord's Day.'

Some have false teachings, others are a synagogue of Satan; (who say they are Jews/Christians), others have Jezebel, who is into the deep things of Satan, and teaches IDOL worship and fornication; Nicolaus, Balaam and Balak, who also teach IDOL worship and fornication, another is very rich and is trusting in those riches, another is spiritually slow in works, another is warm instead of hot or cold.

The IDOL worship is *denomination worship,* saying 'We are the only true church, and you must obey us or God will kill you.'

Suppose some of these denominations teach a couple of false things, mixed in with the true? Should we go on lying with them, when we know something is a lie?

Jesus says, NO,..and to Repent..as he will give to each one individually according to their deeds; Rev. 2:23

According to Revelation 2 and 3, there are 'elect' or chosen ones in each of these congregations.

Revelation 2;22 Look! I (Jesus) am about to throw her into a sickbed and those committing *adultery* with her into GREAT TRIBULATION, unless they repent of her deeds...

Zephaniah 1:8-11 "And it must occur on the day of Jehovah's sacrifice that I will give attention to the princes, and to the sons of the king, ..And I will give attention to EVERYONE climbing upon the platform in that day, those who are filling the house of their masters with *violence and deception.* And there must occur on that day," is the utterance of YHWH/Jehovah, " the sound of an outcry from the Fish Gate, and a howling from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills."..

For example, Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus 1,000 year rule began in 1914, and there was a sign with it, World War !, so is it true?.......... It is true that Jesus 1,000 year reign would begin without *striking observableness* he said, not with a *war sign.* And once his reign/coming/presence began, he would shortly thereafter manifest his presence by destroying the apostasy, of 1Thessalonians 2:8.

Luke 17:20b,21 'The kingdom of God is not coming with striking observableness, neither will people be saying , 'See here,' or 'There!' For look! the kingdom of God is in your midst."

I'd say that a World War is strikingly observable, so therefore cannot fit this prophecy.

It is not to late, to repent, admit you are wrong, and gain the respect of many who have noticed this error. (and also it is impossible for the 1,000 years to begin before the 6,000 end)

Luke 4:12 In answer Jesus said to him: "It is said, 'You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.'

Luke 12: 37 Happy are those slaves whom the master on arriving finds watching! Truly I say to you, He will gird himself and make them recline at the table and will come alongside and minister to them.

42)Who really is the FAITHFUL steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their food supplies at the proper time? Happy is that slave, if has master on arriving finds him doing so! (also 44-48)

I think that Jesus was speaking the truth. Everybody in the world already IS deceived in one way or another...that is, we all sin...we are deceived by the devil.

I don't think it means that everybody will be deceived in exactly the same manner by exactly the same person or event.
