No. Chewing gum is bad. It will get addicted. It will certainly spoil your teeth if its use is continuous. You may get tense when you do not chew the chewing gum. So try to avoid it slowly.
HOwever, some believe that chewing chewing gum would relax a little bit. Some start this habit to stop smoking or even drinking etc. But dont get into that extent that chewing chewing gum itself becomes a addiction.

Hope this helps......
"Unusual for a confectionery, chewing gum has some health benefits; sugar-free chewing gum stimulates saliva production, and helps to neutralize the effect of acids that follow meals. Sugared gum has been shown to increase tooth decay when used regularly. Chewing gum has also been identified with improving memory according to various studies. Also, it is known that gum-chewers scored 25% higher than the control group on immediate word recall tests, and 36% higher on delayed word recall tests."

Personally, I never chew gum. I think it's terrible for one's oral health. Just think about it: after you spit out the gum, the sugar from it lingers on your teeth for several hours until you brush it. That's just asking for cavities.
Many people chew gum to get rid of bad breath, but what they are actually doing is making their breath worse and ruining their teeth in the long run. If you can't stand it, only chew gum once a day and gradually, decrease your consumption of it.
If masking your breath is the problem, I'd suggest drinking bottled water. Dehydration and dry mouth is one of the main causes of bad breath. If you keep your mouth moist whether by drinking something or by brushing, it should be no problem.

it depends what kind of chewing gum. for example sugar harms your teeth but the simple fact of chewing every day is good for dentition. during history food has become milder and milder. today we are used to eat things easy to chew and chewing gum helps you to reinforce your gums. (excuse my english. hope you understood something)

If it has sugar in it, you're causing cavities. Also, it's bad for your jaw.
