AC, or alternating current, is common household electricity, usually from 110 volts for lights and televisions, to 220 volts for central air, clothes dryers, kitchen ranges, furnaces, etc.

DC, or direct current, is often battery powered, such as your 12 volt electrical system in your car. Anything with a "+" or "-" (positve and negative) is DC.

DC power can be used in small portable electronic appliances that do not require much electrical power to operate. Hence we convert the AC power into DC by AC-DC Convertor / Adapter. Otherwise, AC power is used.

In India we have 220vac mains supply. But many appliances (Electronic) are using lesser voltages in dc eg. 3,6,9,12 vdc. So we step down mains voltage to reqd voltage & convert it to dc. for this we need an adapter. Same as we use for mobile sets recharging. Some appliances as TV sets have teir power supplies built in, so we can directly feed 220vac. It is written mostly what supply the appliance need on the power supply point.
Mostly 220vac appliances come with apower cord with plug oinbthe other end & lesser volt dc eqpts are cordless with a socket on the back, where a lead/power o/p cord of the adapter is inserted to supply the dc supply.
dc to ac we convert only in inverters, as we store the incoming voltage converted to dc, and on mains failure, that dc voltage from battery is converted to ac & then stepped up from 12/24 v to 220vac.
Otherwise we only convert ac to dc.
Mainly dc voltage is used nby appliances which can use battery/celll either. So designed for equivalent voltages ( 1.5vdc X 2 cells = 3vdc, 4 cells= 6vdc, 8 cells = 12vdc)

We can use DC power in battery operated vehicles forklifts cars submarines all the way down to low power cellphones ipods etc,.It is difficult to control DC or to change the voltage.
We use AC to get power from power generating plants to the users. Transformers make the change of voltage easy and efficient that is why we use AC in all factory's houses and shops.

AC- Alternative current that means in a second +ve will be -ve and -ve will be +ve of 50 or 60 cycles...(Hertz)

DC- Direct Current theat mean there will be no chang in nodes(+ve or -ve).

most of the electronic items uses DC... and most of the Electrical items like motor uses AC current.

AC current can be converted in to DC by using diodes...
this is simple answer...

certainly bypass purchase a darn domicile reciever, or dj kit. i does not even attempt to try this, and that i artwork interior the 12volt indusrty. to not sound condesending ac-dc converters are bought in amp measurements( a million amp, 5 amp 10 amp, etc) and the 4000 watts of output isn't what you like in an converter. inspect the fuses interior the amp. with the right math you will discover what you like in a converter. and what you may want in a converter to do it precise. do not PLUG YOUR AMP right into a WALL OUTLET!!!!!. automobile audio runs on DC modern-day it is particularly diverse from AC domicile voltage. It rather sound like what you prefer to do is have the comparable db point on your place it is at a stay overall performance. rather, bypass purchase some DJ kit in the previous you start up a hearth attempting to hook up your automobile amp interior the domicile.

wherever we require a stationary and high power applications we normally use AC
for energy storage purpose and low power applications which r both mobile and stationary we use DC.
