I personally beleive so, but it should be under a doctor's supervision if used that way because some people react differently to it than others do. In the 70s about 80% of the people would admit to having tried marijuana, and the other 20% were probably lying. While marijuana makes most people euphoric for a period of time, a small number of people do have an adverse reaction or even the opposite reaction, so that needs to be monitored. Also, using marijuana will not solve problems that may lead to depression. There needs to be some talk therapy so that a person can work out his or her problems. It MAY be possible that marijuana could be helpful in some situations regarding depression, but it didn't help my friend who lost his wife, then comitted suicide. For the most part, I think marijuana should be legal. It has much less harmful effects than alcohol, but constant use can dull your memory and keep you from achieving your full potential.

Marijuana is a great medicine for folks in pain, and for people just partying, but when I've smoked when I was depressed in my life, it didn't help anything, it only made me more depressed. Some of the most fun times in my 54 years of life have been when I was happy with my lady and partying it up, but some of the saddest times are when I smoked when I was depressed, Good luck. Ron
Oh, about being legal? I don't know about that kind of crap, that will just cost me tax money.

Considering it has been prescribbed for that over 2000 years you'd think so. The drug companies would not like that. Also there are side effects, like not caring about ones output. Tomorrow will be good. I can not see it happening. It ought to be legal and taxed like cigarrets and alcohal but you know people just want to keep stuff out of reach. Democracy as you might have noticed does not work.

Should be legal for many medical reasons, but not depression. Depression needs more than a quick fix.

Pot makes most people think more so it wouldn't help someone suffering from depression as they'd worry more. Its consider a downer drug, few people find it to be an upper. Therefore you'd probably start to feel ok with being depressed

isn't it already?

but i think that marijuana Is a depressant so it slows down the central nervous system so that won't really be good/helpful for people who are depressed

Try salvia, it's legal in all states except for Delaware, Louisiana, and Tennessee. It's a little better, in my humble opinion.

Absolutely not. Legal for cancer victims, maybe, but it certainly won't help depression.
