2 painful years on my own. I built the courage and went on these dates but thaty were both odd indifferent ways, thay all say thay wont a meaningful relationship then by the end of the night wont to jump into bed. Im only 36apparentley very attractive yes over weight by 2 stone, dress well, kind so why dont i actually get offered any decent dates, All i wont is to be happy and do the normal family things in life as you do as a family, i feel so lonley and long to feel close to that special person again. please give me some advice. county durham lass

The only advice I can give you is to not judge yourself by others standard's. I'm also single and have been on several on-line dating websites. I have learned that there are a lot of men out there that have stringent standards for women regarding weight, age, looks, etc. and the same standards to not seem to apply to the men also. Strange. Do not lose sight of the fact that you are a good, strong, independent, attractive woman. You're not lucky to know them, they should consider themselves lucky to get a chance to know you.
Be careful. Meet in public places. Run criminal backgrounds if you can. Trust your gut instinct. I think I've done the best when I was out there looking for "friends". You never know what can develop from a good friendship. Get out there and meet people. Have fun! Don't impose any deadlines on yourself. Take your time. Enjoy. Who knows what might develop with the new friends you make?

Just be ready for rejection. I think the older we get the higher our standards and also we know more what we can't deal with.
Love happens again and the passion at this age is wonderful the older we get.
