try tea tree oil shampoo for dandruff.
I have heard there are essential oils that are good for hair loss, but I am not sure off the top of my head (no pun intended) which ones they were.
I once did this mixture for my son who was going prematurely bald in front and I did not know the essential oils had to be diluted with liquid and I burned the he** out of his head...he screamed his head off and refused to ever try anything I suggested again.
I thought he was exaggerating, but one day I splashed a bunch of almond oil on my skin and it burned VERY badly.

There are number of reasons for the dandruff like faulty diet, harsh shampoo, poor blood circulation in head, emotional tension and stress. This problem is more common in teenagers because they secrete an excess of androgen hormones which causes sebum, the skin oil.
Remedies:
* Massage and daily brushing are effective in treating dandruff. They help in blood circulation. For dry dandruff you should use an oil to massage before washing your hair.
* Rubbing lemon juice on the head is effective.
* The juice of vijaya leaf is helpful.
* The juice of shigru leaves is rubbed on the head to cure dandruff.
* For dandruff, massage three days old curds on the scalp. Keep it for half an hour and then shampoo.
* Avoid nuts, chocolates, fried food. You must have a diet rich in green, chicken, fish, milk and its products. Also a good diet in vitamin A, E & B complex
* Prior to shampooing soak a pad of cotton wool in witch hazel extract and apply on the head along partitions if roots are excessively greasy.
* Massaging the head with brahmi oil cures dandruff.

You should see a dermatologist asap. Dandruff is one thing, but to be losing a lot of hair with it may be a signal that there is something else going on - alopecia(?), etc.

I got Aveda's Scalp Remedy shampoo, conditioner and concentrated elixer stuff for his head and it has really worked for him. In the past he has tried everything from emu oil shampoo to Head and Sholders and nothing else has worked for him. The Aveda totally cleared up his condition.

Body Shop products are really gr8!!!! and also AVON is good. it is cheap as well. but get it clinically tested and go for medicinal treatment first to get rid of the basic problem otherwise it will pop up again once you stop using good products.
