Do you possibly mean ESR? This is the elapsed sedimentary rate, and it tests for inflammation in the body. If you google it, you can find more information on what kinds of diseases or conditions for which this test is an indication.

I work in a hospital lab and do hundreds of blood tests. I've never heard of "Er's" Can you give a little more detail?

are you sure its not ESR was the blood put in a long thin purple tube??? if it is ESR that is your electrolyte sedimentation ratio..
it checks for a rise in white blood cells and your electrolyte and how long they take to settle basic blood test for infection.. as for Ers haven't got a clue always ask its your right to know!!
