I'm looking for a headlight for my recumbant bike. I don't know if I should go with the LEDs or halogen lights. Any suggestions?

I have used both types of lights. I find LEDs to perform better and lit the road up better me, as well as being visible to cars. In addition, I have found that the battery life is better for the lighting systems I used with LEDs vs. the halogen. Of course, this is probably because I was more willing to invest in a LED system vs. the halogen system. I currently am using the Blackburn X6 system, which has two individual LED lights. It was pretty expensive, but it definitely out performs my halogen. However, I don't know how the X6 system would work on a recumbant bike, or how much money you are willing to spend. Another brand that cyclist I know like is the Niterider systems. I haven't personally used them, but everyone says they provide adequate lighting.

That kinda depends on how much night riding you're going to do and how much money you want too spend. I prefer the led light, there cheaper and give ample of running time and work well on my Strada or Catrike. Check this sight and you can judge for yourself, it will give you an idea of how much light each light produces. http://eddys.com/page.cfm?PageID=493
