Previous answerers have given good definitions -- from a Christian point of view.

But it's really used only by (generally well-intentioned) Christians who want to show the universality of their belief. The term says that it's not just a Christian point-of-view, but also Jewish. However, Christians have done some very different things with concepts that were originally Jewish. For a decade now, I've been keeping an eye out for an example of that term in use that was truly representative of both and have yet to find one.

This isn't Christian-bashing in the least. Their point-of-view is so mainstream (in the U.S. and most of Europe) that they don't realise how it looks to others. Sort of like Christmas. :-)

Judeo-Christian (or Judaeo-Christian) is a term used to describe the body of concepts and values which are thought to be held in common by Judaism and Christianity, and typically considered (along with classical Greco-Roman civilization) a fundamental basis for Western legal codes and moral values. Compare with Ebionites and Judaizers.
