I drive red Nissan 1985 300 ZX in perfect condition.I'm grandma age. I don't care what people think! I probably embarrass my family (my husband is constantly on me to get rid of it because of the upkeep expense ) The hell with all of them! You only go around once in this life.If this is what you want...GET IT! You will feel so good when you drive it.Sometimes you want something in life, just because you want it. Don't apologize or explain to anyone. Was that you that went speeding by me on the road with your hair blowing in the wind?

if you get one of these be sure to purchase a good extended warranty plan no German car is as good as they once were and the new beetles and cabriolets are no exception [they are alot like the old British cars, really nice when everything is working but after 90 days it has all gone to crap] too bad the payment books are so thick. if you can afford the shop time and carry a cell phone in the car at all times [with a charged battery] go for it

You should get it because just remember "You always get older you do not have to get OLD" I see people of all ages driving VW Convertibles. Age has nothing to do with it. I am 64 years old and drive a GTI VR6 with many modifications Do not let others determine what you do with your life. If it feels good and does not hurt anyone else go for it.

64 or 164, go and buy yourself that car Lady. Then when you get tired of that car, get a Porsche 911 Turbo or a Dodge Viper ! just for the sheer frill. Imagine the "green with envy" faces of all the young men on the block who dont have one! turn the I.C.E( In Car Entertainment ) Music system right up loud and smile, ENJOY!

I would think that she was having a great time enjoying her convertible. Don't ever let anyone else's opinions of what you are doing or who your are affect your choices. At the age of 64 we should all have respect for you and your choices, whatever they may be.
Go and get that Yellow VW and enjoy every moment you spend in it! :)

A person is only as old as they feel. wait til you get to that age and see how you feel, you may not feel any different than you do now, might look it, but not feel it so what is the problem? Hey, and if she wants to rock, party, or what ever she wants, so be it! She is still a woman and wants to have fun, thrills and every high in life she can get, just like you. So support her!!!!!!!

My wife, who is a trauma surgeon and mother of three boys, drives a yellow VW Beetle and loves it. Our boys love it. My friend's kid calls it the "bumblebee" car and loves it.
I think it is a great idea for a grandma who is young at heart.

You go girl! If you are in a position to get what you want, go for it! Let everyone else be jealous!
I would consider it as someone who is enjoying life and I hope to be in a position financially and health wise to do the same when I get to be that age.
Get that car!
