Too many Christians try to keep track of which commandments they are following and to make it their own personal crusade to do "good works" which not only won't save them (according to Ephesians 2), but gives them the glory instead of giving God the glory. It's too easy to think we can do all the right stuff and expect God to bless it but never ask Him what His will is. But what did Jesus say? He said that all people would know we are His disciples by our love. (John 13:35) But if they are trying to love people out of their own measly strength and will and not yield to what Christ is trying to do in them and through them so that HIS love (not their love) will be the distinguishing characteristic, then they will still be acting petty and self-righteous because it will be them trying to act loving instead of letting Jesus use them to actually love others. It's a matter of who is calling the shots--them or Jesus. If they are self-righteous and judgmental, then it should be pretty obvious that it's them and not Him.

show me one and i will die of shock. who has ever sold their daughter(s) to slavery or bought slaves from neighboring countries? also, who hasn't been judgmental? i was told if i didn't change my ways, i would be kicked out of the church. i just left on my own accord. absolutley nobody follows the bible directly and i can prove it with a list of scripture that can prove that everyone has not followed it totally. how about stoning to death a child who rebels against their parents? if i didn't, i would probably have lost my mind or worse by now.also, how about working on sabbath. not everybody has banker's hours, like police, firefighters, military, et c. do we take the weekend off during war? i don't think so.eating shellfish is another. we eat what we want. eating meat on fridays? we eat when we want.men's hair regulations? i am not even going to get into that. mixing crops in a field or cloths in clothes? gimme a break. so many more to deal with. too many to discuss here.

It is impossible for anyone to not sin. The Bible says that all fall short. We do not get eternal life through our own merits. The only way we filthy sinners ever get life is to be washed clean by the precious blood of the Lamb. Just because one is a Christian does not mean he or she will never sin again. The only difference is that when we do and we ask God to forgive us and repent of this sin, God forgives us and remembers our sin no more. God loved us so much that He sent His son to take our punishment and pay the price that we would have had to pay ourselves.

I'm atheist but I will say that even though my neighbors and I got along just fine for awhile, when they found out I didn't "believe", they quit talking to me. They all claim to be very devout Christians. It really hurt my feelings as I thought I had some friends in these people but I guess not. Christians are making a bad name for themselves when they act this way.

by tending to be hypocritical of what others follow, you wouldn't notice them at all. you set your standard and a christian must pass this for you to know that he is a true follower of christ. the specifics of his messages are there, the manner of practicing it doesn't mean to reach jesus level. but to reach the level of what christ expect us to be... that is what chirtianity is. no need of conviction as long as i practice my faith in my own li'l way, i know i am in a righteous path, as long as being humane to all things surrounding me, my faith in him strong, i am a christian and i am a follower of christ.
p.s. try traveling to places where christianity abound... better yet, observe them with an open heart and not by your standard, then you'll understand christianity.

Hey, I try..but it is impossible..to not make sins or mistakes..
Romans 8;21-25 I find, then, this law in my case, that when I wish to do what is right, what is bad is present with me. I really delight in the law of God according to the man I am within, but I behold in my members another law warring against the law of my mind and leading me captive to sin's law that is in my members.
Miserable man that I am! Who will rescue me from the body undergoing this death? Thanks to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So, then, with my mind I myself an a slave to God's law, but with my flesh to sins law. Read also verses 13-20.
Who said humans are perfect now? Are you? Do you try to do the right thing?
Should you remove the rafter out of your own eye, so you can see clearly how to remove the splinter from their eyes?
According to your judgment you will be judged.
Romans 14:4 Who are you to judge the house servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for Jehovah can make him stand.

Every one thinks that he is right from his point of view and hence feels that he is following the rules and therefore each human being some how the other feels he is closest to god

I'll tell you what...I try my best very single day! Of course I will not be successful 100% of the time because I am human, but the effort is what matters.

You're not looking in the right place. You are really too self-righteous and judgmental to see them anyhow. Hypocrite.

No one can follow the laws perfectly, it is not about being perfect, it is about trying, will we continue to sin? yes.
Paul wrote in his 2nd letter to his son Timothy, that he had fought the good fight he had finished the race he had kept the face.
2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:
He did not say he won it. It is not about winning the race or fight ,it is about fighting it, and finishing it.
Christ won the race for us, but we must "show up" and finish it.
Showing up means receiving salvation, Finishing the race means to continue to fight, and never give up, to overcome.
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
