no salon... hmm -- well technically the salon one that I use is sold in Eckerd drugstores so I would stay with that one - Loreal Professionel Serie Expert - all lines.

With S&C you get what you pay for - cheaper shampoos and conditioners use cheaper ingredients but include ones that lather well and feel like they are moisturizing when in fact, this agent, is the worst one for your hair and is also the same one that is in a bar of soap. So other than that - it really makes no difference but Herbal Essence and Tres Semme I think it is seem to smell the best and work the best of all of them. The worst is V05 and Paul Mitchell. - oh an Nexxus - horrible. :o)

I have always been a fan of Pantene, as it gives me silky soft hair, even though it is natural quite frizzy and coarse.

I currently use Head & Shoulders, as it makes my hair feel cleaner, and makes it less itchy.

I have also used Dove, which was quite nice.

I am also a fan of shampoos which smell nice - especially fruity ones, like Garnier Fructis and Palmolive Fruitrience.

The new Herbal essence!!Its awesome smells great and does exactly what it says!I hate panteen its noting but silicon, your hair looks great for about a week then its like greasy looking and just flatt buts thats what the sillicon does!It puts a coating on your hair shaft and it hard for hair color or perms to penetrate it and hair dressers hate peole who use that stuff cause it makes it hard on them trying to do a chemical service!BUt try Herbal esscense you will love it!

John Frieda for Brunettes (Chestnut to Espresso) It makes my dark brown hair shine and it makes it look like I have soft low lights in it. Plus, it keeps my hair in great condition.
