There is now a great difference between English and American English, not only in vocabulary but in grammar and syntax. This is, of course, a natural development caused by the physical separation of our respective countries. What truly worries me is that from reading the questions and answers on this site I cannot help but feel that a large section of the American population is losing its ability to communicate in any language. An example of this can be seen in a recent survey and report that found nearly half of students attempting to get into Community Colleges were in need of remedial reading and writing training before being able to reach entry standard.

individuals. American English is lots closer to unique English than what's spoken in England on the instant. until the early 1800's, British spoke in a dialect that used no longer undemanding r's and delicate t's. approximately 1820 or so, a fad started among nobility wherein they began utilising delicate r's and not undemanding t's and lisping. this fad unfold to the decrease training, and as a effect became born the father of recent English dialects and accents.
