Okay, well tomorrow I'm going to the eye doctor to start training for my contacts. You know, how to put them on and off, etc. For one thing, I just switched eye doctor, so I still don't feel comfortable with him. And well, this is a big step in my life, because I have worn glasses in since the fourth grade (now im in the 11th grade)...so its really important for me...I just..I guess what I'm worried is I wont do it correctly or that maybe there will be awkward moment with my doctor. I don't know....I just hope this contact thing is easy on me. I wanna learn quick and get to the point where I'm used to them.
If you have worn or wear glasses or contacts....any advice?
Thanks.

Hi, I'm 27 and started wearing glasses when i was 18. I switched to contacts 3 years ago. Contacts for me werent too hard to learn, of course everyone is different tho and needs a little bit of help every now and then.
Initially wearing them can be uncomfortable but your eyes do get used to them. Also it takes a little while to get the knack of putting them in. Believe me if u have any problems putting them in u WILL NOT hurt your eye (unless u dont wash your hands before and after u finish putting them in - always keep your hands clean to avoid an eye infection).
If u cant put it in, it can be frustrating. Give it a few mins and try again. Secondly the contact cant actually get lost in your eye and if it does get lodged in your upper or lower lid it will come out by itself. Its always easy to make mistakes and after 3 years of using them i still dont always get them in on the first try. Give yourself time, im sure everything will be alright...chin up and hope you enjoy your new contacts as much as i did mine.

Don't be nervous, I'm sure the manager is used to interviewing first time applicants. I would not wear your sports uniform, bring a change of clothes to school and change before you leave. I doubt anyone will laugh when you have money to take girls out and buy a car when (if)you're old enough. My advise is to be confidant during your interview and think about how you'd answer questions like "Name a time when you were involved in a project where everyone else wanted to quit and how did you handle it?" Another reason to not worry is that McDonald's isn't the only place in town to work, perhaps you could view this as a practice interview and follow up with Burger King or Subway if you don't get the job.

I wore glass's for 10 years before i got my cantacts---so i know where your coming from. Contacts are technique--plus mind over matter. I used to be an optom. asst. and taught people how to wear/put in/and care for their contacts. first off---TELL your doctor that your nervious and specifically why. Are you afraid that you can't wear them? That they'll never go in? never come out? They can address your worst case scenarios. For example lets say that it did get stuck in your eye in a position that you couldn't get it out--which is VERY VERY rare becasue your eyes are made to keep debris and matter out--you could always go in and have a tech or doctor get it out.
Secondly, most people take aprox 7-10 days to get fully use to the feel of your contacts. Think of it like the first time you wear a new ring. The first few days you feel it and notice that it's on a lot. but adventually your brain gets use to having it there--stops bringing it to your attention--and you tune it out. Same thing with contacts.
Third--relax! it's not easy opening up your eye to get a contact in when your nervious and tense. Take a deep breath. Before you leave the doctore office--with them right there you will learn to put your trial lense in, take them out, and put them back in again. if it takes you an hour to do so---so what! Don't be embarassed! If they don't offer you to put them on there than request to do so. This is important practice for you and then allows them to look at your contacts on your eyes. This is important to get the right fit. (there ar MANY sizes) Which is important for your comfort and most important for your eye health.
And if your still frustrated--think off all the people who wear contacts. They've all been where you are now...so hey--at least you're in good company!
Good luck!

You'll be fine. They will show you how to put them in and take them out. And if you don't get it right the first time it's no big deal they work with you till you are okay with it. And your going to LOVE the contacts.Waite till everyone sees you on Monday!! At first they'll just look and look to try to figure out what's different about you then they'll have to ask. it's going to be great!!!And don't feel awkward with your doctor more then likely he'll have an assistance that will help you. Good Luck!!!!

I wear both and contacts are easy to put in that is if you can handle putting things in your eyes and make sure you keep them really clean cause calcuim and bacetria can grow on the contatcs and don't leave them in to long cause it will make your eyes dry they have eye drops for it too..Good luck
