we live in the country, there is a footpath at the back of our (fenced in) property and when the shepherd goes by with his sheep my dogs get very excited and bark at them and at each other. The little dog yaps at the big dog and he retaliates and bites her( normally he is not aggressive, but she winds him up), I am looking to buy a lightweight chain mail type of coat she could wear to protect her. It is not possible to keep them seperate.

This is the stuff that bullet proof vests are made of, and easy to sew with..I used to make chaps from this... there are many choices of colors and sizes listed, and as cheap as $2.50..> http://cgi.ebay.com/Green-1000-Denier-Cordura-PackOutdoor-Equestrian-Fabric_W0QQitemZ180023617778QQihZ008QQcategoryZ28162QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You might try changing your feeding time to coincide with the shepherd going by...

Other than aethestics if your other dog gets fed up enough they will work it out for themselves. Not only would a coat of that material be extremely heavy but also very costly. Unless you are dealing with wounds it isnt a big issue. If you are dealing with open punctures, you may have to do a little redirection training.
