Okay, well tomorrow I'm going to the eye doctor to start training for my contacts. You know, how to put them on and off, etc. For one thing, I just switched eye doctor, so I still don't feel comfortable with him. And well, this is a big step in my life, because I have worn glasses in since the fourth grade (now im in the 11th grade)...so its really important for me...I just..I guess what I'm worried is I wont do it correctly or that maybe there will be awkward moment with my doctor. I don't know....I just hope this contact thing is easy on me. I wanna learn quick and get to the point where I'm used to them.
If you have worn or wear glasses or contacts....any advice?
Thanks.

Yeah, I know how uncomfortable it is with a new eye doctor. They are up in your space, there's no buffer. Anyway, contacts are fairly easy. You may have a problem with putting them in and that will take time. Mostly because touching your eye makes you blink, tear up, etc. It really doesn't take that long to get used to. Make sure that you are in a very well lit area, and use a large magnifying mirror if you have one. Also, make sure that you have some Visine, or natural tears on hand in case you do have a problem - you can stop and try again later.Good luck!

Im just like u.. I have wore glasses since the fourth grade and I still wear them til this day (im 19). And me personally, I dont like contacts. I hear they may make ur vision worst and thats the last thing I need in me life. Some people can do it, some can't. I refuse to even try. Actually I would get a pair of contacts to tell the truth, but I would only wear them once in every blue moon. U know how u might have the one outfit, or hairstyle that just doesnt fit with u wearing glasses. I would have a pair of contacts for that reason and that reason only. but to wear one a regular basics is a no-no. Sorry, just how I feel. But good luck tomorrow. Ur stronger than me =)

I wear contacts - also started in about 10-11th grade. The first time i tried them at my eye doctor, it was really disturbing and i had to take them off right away. But after that, right from the 2nd time, it became really easy and comfy. It may mean that on the 1st time i just didn't put it correctly, or there was some kind of immediate accumulation.. bottom line is, you either don't have problems at all or get used to it really fast; i think the chances that it won't suit you are low.
For the record, my contacts are "hard" contacts. if you're on "soft" it's far more comfortable of what i've heard.

Don`t worry Jenny. I have been wearing contact lences for 3 years. Well, it is little difficult in the begining but you will get used to it in 2 to 3 days.

when i had my contact fitting training day, i was sick with tonsillitis. I wasn't all that good, and had difficulty feeling up to the challenge. I didn't quite get good at it at the optomatrist but now i have no problem getting them in and out. If you cant do it great the first time, don't worry. If the optomatris goes off at you then take your business elsewhere.
