Well, why not... consider for a moment that most animals mate out of instinct. Humans do not (well... maybe it seems that was after watching some music videos, but we don't).
If you consider the simple mechanics of it... sex in and of itself is... well... kinda awkward and nasty... (CALM DOWN PEOPLE... LET ME FINISH). But sex is the mechanism by which our species procreates... So it makes sense that to get us to do it, God had to make it enjoyable to us... both physically and emotionally... and even spiritually...
So, yes... Sex is blessed... but like most blessings... it is something that can be abused, misused and misconstrued... THAT's when sex is bad.

Everyone walking around on the planet are a proof of a succesful sexual encounter, hopefully between a committed couple, who is willing to follow through. Those few seconds of conception lead to centuries of lives. One child of today can be the parent of many generations of tomorrow!!
Those who create good people are indeed blessing the World with good lives, but for that to happen, they have to stick with each other, raise the children in love and kindness, as children are like delayed mirrors. They give back to the World what they received in the early part of their lives.
If all these things are done properly THEN Sex is a blessed activity. If not sex can also lead to murder. Many times girls who are indiscreet in their activities get pregnant before they get married. As they are not capable of taking care of the baby, at times their parents may choose to abort the child or give the child away after birth to some adoption agency.
Such children are so very unlucky. It is hard to be aborted. The doctor instead of curing and giving health becomes a butcher, to cut out a live human being, who committed no wrong.
If the child is given up for adoption, then strangers raise the child. When real parents raise a child, they see their own selves in the child in the mannerisms, in their looks which are transferred genetically. Adopted children may look different, may react differently based on the inherited genetic make up, which can at times cause problems for the child, as adults are in control.
So, sex is either a death sentence, a sentence of a lonely life or it can be a blessing depending on the circumstances chosen by two adults who are capable of making new life.

Depends on your religion and how you take that religion. There's lots of views about it and most sects of most religions can differ greatly on the topic. I think it is, though, if that helps.
