Suppose to; but most men get it confused with the words "CONTROL OF THE HOUSEHOLD". More and more men aren't being as responsible as they are suppose to be and they put everything on their wives to do using the excuse I have to work and your here all day. Yeah right!! I work 37 to 40 hrs in three days and on third shift just so one of us can be at home during the week for our daughter since she is still in school and too young to stay home alone. All I heard is "your here all day" YET on weekends he go's off hunting and fishing and I'm still the one to watch out over our daughter even though I just got home at 7am and need to sleep so I can go back to work by 5:30 pm that night. And all I hear then is "But I worked all week." Yet I have offered to work all week and let him take the weekend deal but guess what ? You got, there's no way his giving up his weekends!!PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK!!! There's not a man on earth that would to ALL the things a women does in a day. They couldn't last!!!!!!!!SO if the women feels the need to wear the pants then so be it. If men want the "Head of the household " name take on the responsibility that go's with it.

*Someone's* got to drive the bus.
As a woman, I have no objection to the man being head of the household...so long as he does his duty fairly and is respectable.
Now, my former husband failed to do these things, and abdicated his authority so completely that I filed for and received official Head of Household status (this, when we lived in Japan). You should have seen the way the officials looked at him, as if he were some worm beneath contempt!

A couple should be the head of a household. It's a partnership and women should be equally involved in all aspects.

Are there any men in your house? Are you sure? Dosen't sound like it to me! You like to ask really dumb questions don't you? Hopefully, you just think your funny by posting all the stupid questions. You like the attention you didn't get from your parents. You want to make people think your tuff, and controlling. But when your around real men, your afraid, and timid. You don't behave this way around other guys, because real men would put you in your place. You see if you want to be a man, you have to learn to respect women. The man is the head of the house. But the women are in charge. In real life, people who act like you, don't make it very far. They are not educated, or succed in life. They live bad lives, and usually end up alone. You must have gotten beat up alot by other kids, or your parents. You learned this bad behavior somewhere

Yes.But that is the classical concept.Today in the 21st century Women play an equal and important role.So we have what is called bilateral leadership which works based on cooperation and consultation. One thing is certain. Man dictating terms to woman is an old story and is best forgotten for better harmony between partners.

TO SOME EXTENT THE MAN SHOULD BE HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD, BUT HE SHOULD TREAT EVERYBODY ELSE WITH THE SAME RESPECT AS THEY GIVE HIM.
