I feel like I need to chime in here because of all this "Why are there still monkeys?" Confusion.... Evolution is not linear, nobody ever claimed it was. Species that emerged 10 million years ago are still here now, species that emerged 100 million years ago are still here now, and species that emerged 500 million years ago are still around today. You have to get this crazy notion that A turns into B then it turns into C and then on to D out of your minds, evolution does not work that way. Humans did not evolve directly from apes or chimps. We both evolved from common ancestors, we are all primates. There have been several offshoots that were closer to humans than they were to monkeys, some of them led to us (homo sapiens) and some others branched off and died out (became extinct) like Neandertal and Cro Magnon. Even so a human and a chimpanzee are 94% identical at the genetic level. If that doesn't prove to you that evolution is fact then you have no brain and you should stay in church for the rest of your life so you can feel good about the fact that you have completely turned your back on logic and intellectual reason.

They can't deny it...but they try anyway. Anything that threatens their preconceived ideas about the origin of the universe HAS to be wrong...regardless of the fact that it was all made up by a bunch of non-scientist desert nomads with a lot of superstitions.
BTW: A lot of people on this forum need to learn the definition of the word "theory". In science, a theory is as good as it gets. It starts as a hypothisis and becomes a theory when it has been tested and the evidence supports it. If the evidence does not support the hypothisis, the hypothisis is changed or discarded. If contrary evidence of a running theory comes up, then the theory must be changed or discarded.
So far, the best that creationists have managed against the ToE are word games and word definitions that can be altered at will. Evolution is a fact. The ToE is the description of it.

Yes, We don't disagree that there are many Similarity between Monkey and Humans..But there are many many dissimilarity also..
BUT how can you prove that a Monkey become a Human in a matter of Time ??
There is no proof of monkey becoming Humans.. That is our question.
There are many Similarity between a Bus and a Car..
But that does not mean that Some Bus later on evolved slowly into a Car..
There are many similarity between the different elements present in the universe... But that does not mean that Iron evolved into Aluminum etc..
There is no proof and no one has ever seen... There are no historical records, nor even Folk tales mentioning evolution...
Do you even have proof of a Unicellular organism like amoeba evolving into a Multicellular Hydra ??
In science you have to see both sides and not be biased on one idea ... Then it does not remain science any more but becomes cheating

i think it is funny when one really thinks about it. the randomness of selection, the things that originated because of this random selection, the complexity of life itself, the intricate design of the human anatomy and a lot more. did you know that scientists can't explaine how dolphines are able to defy gravity and the laws of physics? am thinking that if it were all the work of randomness, how do you explain the order in the solar system where planets are rotating on their axis, while they are revolving around the sun each in its own path and never colliding with each other-all the while moons are revolving around them, rotating on their own axis? you could say there is no god, but evolution is a stupid idea, that doesn't explain life, bought by mentally deficient people, who can't reason beyond what they have been told. how random is the balance of the earth itself? tthey say the crocodile has not evolved in billions of years, but horses have. do the crocs defy evolution or some things just don't change? i have seen people who look like Neandethals, literally, how do you explain that? how many neandethals did they find that told them that the whole human race at the time was like that? how many Australopithicus Africanus and Australopithicus Robustus did they find at the 'cradle of life' in Kenya? I believe in design. Design explains what exists, evolution doesn't.

when you talk about evolution, you start thinking about Darwin’s theory. And Darwin went on his ship - at ‘H.M.H. Bugle’ to an island by the name of ‘calatropis’ and he saw birds pecking at niches. Based on that observation that the beaks of the birds became long and short, he propounded the natural selection. But he wrote a letter to his friend Thomas Thompton, in 19th century - He said that… ‘I do not have proof to propound my natural selection but because it helped me in classification of embryology, of rudimentary organs, I put forth this.’ Darwin’s theory is not a fact at all - It is only a theory. And I made it very clear in the beginning of my talk… ‘Qur’an can go against theories’, because theories take U-turns - But Qur’an will not go against any established fact. And in our school we are taught about Darwin’s theory, as though it is a fact .its not a fact.
There is no scientific proof at all – ‘there are missing links.’ Therefore if someone has to insult his friend, his colleague, he will say… ‘If you were present at Darwin’s time, Darwin’s theory would have been proved right – insinuating, he looks like an ape. There are missing links with Darwin’s theory. And I know about the four fossils that are present - the Hominoids - the Lucy. Orthalopetians, with its guide, the Homoeructus, Naindertolman, and Cromageron – For details, refer to my videocassette. By molecular Biology, according to Hansis Cray, he said it is impossible that we can be evolved from apes, by DNA coding - it is impossible. You can refer to my videocassette - It gives the details.
Some parts I have no objection. Regarding biology, Qur’an says in Surah Ambiya, Chapter 21, Verse No. 30, … Arabic… ‘We have created every living thing from water - Will you not then believe ?’ Today we know that every living creature - The basic substance… the cell contains cytoplasm, which has about 90% water. Every living creature in the world has approximately 50 to 90 % water. Imagine… in the deserts of Arabia, who could have imagined, that every thing is made of water ? Qur’an says that 14 hundred years ago.

Ok, know whats weird? We actually share something like a 98% genetic resemblence, to some breed of fly, fruit fly i think. Even closer to certain monkeys, primates, w/e. But the evidence is solid. If you dont understand evolution, its because you dont want to.

It's so funny how creationists can enjoy the science of television, radio, medicine, etc, but deny evolution. C'mon people, try reading some books written by actual scientists, not something by the "scientists" who "study" intelligent design. The biblical story of creation is a myth, fable, fairy tale, blah blah blah. Please enter the age of reason and logic.
Scientific evidence proves we have evolved from lesser species.
How about looking up something called punctuated equalibrium. Hint, it has to do with human evolution.

To question one "fact" of evolution....
The bird- Has feathers, a respiratory system that works in conjunction with the skeletal system, muscles that make flight possible are attached at breast, a fast metabolic rate. feet for gripping.
Came from:
A reptile- had skin, a diaphragm respiratory system, solid bones, muscle for flight attached to backbone, a slow metabolic rate, and feet designed for standing.
Mutations occur in minuscule, have to prove their success, gain dominance, bred out old genetics, and if by slim chance each mutation is positive, these change occur over and over . One, we haven't had enough time for the amount of changes to occur necessary to produce the awesome diversity in the avian species.
Two' how did the extremely mutated transitionals survive, during the time of some of the most horrific predators we have ever know.
We know most mutations are detrimental, and rarely have success in replacing original genetics, vast amounts of mutation normally results in extinction.
Misread evidence, no control, ridiculous conjecture... How can you say it is fact...

I understand totally. Religious believers suffer from a common mental illness.
If we assume the universe was created, then it’s reasonable to assume there was a creator. That’s as far as science has progressed today, but just look how far religion has progressed.
Religion states (fact) there was a creator called God, that God still exists, God also created places called Heaven & Hell, God wrote an instruction book called the Bible, God will banish evil people to Hell, God will send good people who follow the Bible to heaven, that people referred to in the Bible (like Jesus) will return to Earth, and a whole raft of other statements of fact. That’s right, religious fact, not assumptions.
Now tell me truthfully, if science doesn’t even know yet whether the universe was created or not, but religious believers state: “not only was the universe created by God, here’s a whole lot more proof and facts to go with it, what do you think?
Either religious believers just have vivid imaginations or suffer from a common mental illness. I think commonsense and logic would suggest that religious believers are mentally handicapped.
