Some Chinese believe that it would bring you bad luck and you will
forever be poor. Is it a bad table etiquette in your country? But why do some people shake their legs unconsciously?

I do it myself regularly and hope to stop it
because I don't want to be poor forever! But so difficult to stop the body from doing the unconscious action just like stopping the heart from beating.

Is that the reason I never have money. Ha, ha. I took the DISC Personality test and classified as a D. People with that trait tend to move there bodies often. We are always ready for the next adventure and our mind is always racing ahead.

However, if the legs are being shaken "unconsciously" there is no answer to the question. Only a person who consciously shakes his or her legs could tell you why his or her legs are shaking.

People shake their legs because they have suppressed carnal desires.

The older chinese just made a story of shaking legs will bring bad luck.

But in fact, the chinese, since ancient times, have found out that the shaking of legs is a subconcious manifestation of your gratification of a sensual desire or pleasure.

To be frank, and pardon me for my rudeness...so after your meal, go do something to help ease your carnal anxiety.

I think it's from the joy of eating something yummy! I think it's what you do above the table that gets noticed more, like if you shook your arms unconsciously while having a meal it'd be considered bad etiquette.

Why do people shake their legs unconciously at all? I do it a lot. But I live in Japan, and Japanese think that It's a sign of a poor person. I actually had one extremely poorly-behaved student use it as a way to attack me.

It's called adult Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, the same as in children. Now leave us all alone. I can think of worse things to do at the table: like belching and flatulating.

People who shake their legs are nervous people, they are not calm or serene or at peace. They should practice meditation to calm and still their minds. Then they won't shake so much.
