Such a device would have to read and interpret your brain activity and translate them into thoughts, and thus pictures. Nothing like that currently exists. As for the future, who knows, but I doubt if it would be designed for dream interpretation. Such a device would be used for Homeland Defense, (Read the thoughts of the bad guys under questioning), Criminal Justice (Read the thoughts of the bad guys under questioning), Terrorism, (Read the thoughts of the good guys under questioning), and would probably spell the end of civilization as we know it. But then, so did the automobile and movable type.
Could you imagine the hay day the so called experts would have with your dream fragments? Out of curiosity, If your interested, maybe you should post this question in that category and see what kind of answers you get.

Nothing like that exists, and I doubt it will ever exist.

A machine like that would delve way too far into your psyche and could seriously **** you up.

That way, and a lot of dreams are simply fragments.

I don't know, but that would be pretty cool! But I wouldn't want anybody to watch my dreams without my permission lol.
