Well basically what im trying to say is that Freud stated that sons will have an attraction to the mother and daughters will have attraction to father. I know what the interpertation means such as that they are talking more so on the bond however isnt the question biased? Think about it if you did have an attraction to your mother or father would you say so?
Helll no you wouldnt therefore it must be a biased question in which freuds statement couldnt possably dismissed or do you think i am wrong?

I think that I agree with you though the last part of the question is worded a bit off for me (or maybe I am just tired). If you are saying that the people that would say such a thing are mentally unwell and therefore the theory is biased then I agree with you. However, these feelings are supposed to be going on before the onset of infantile amnesia so I am betting that Freud didn't bother asking anybody. Frued is a largely misunderstood person. In undergraduate, he is all but villified for his seemingly off-the-mark notions and this villification is supported by his lack of empirical research. With further study you find that Freud's notions were more correct than incorrect and that Freud had about as much/little support for his arguments as did many of the other founding father's of psychology. Don't write Freud off too easily his is actually one of the more fully developed theories. I have to say that as a therapist, I agree with as much of Frued's stuff as I do most other theorists.

Hey! Tell me which question are you talking about that is biased! :-)

Freud says, everyone in this world experiences an attraction towards the opposite sex, which everyone has to accept. The controversy is, when he talk abt a child of 2 having sexual urges towards it's mother / father, in case of Oedipus / Electra complex.

In case of a male child, he was very close to his mother. He hugs, he enjoys her up to his level. It's not in anyway compared with adults love. It's just an urge of the child to feel the warmth of his mother's body. It's quite natural. But, the problem here is whenever his father is there. The primary importance of his mom goes to his father. So, the small child starts hating his father inwardly who is performing a role of villain for his love towards his mother. And more, he doesn't want his dad to command his mother. He thinks dad is powerful because of he's possessing a 'p*n*s'! So, this child thinks that one day he'll become like his father and have one girl like his mother. (That's why most men seek girls who r in some way resemble their mother!). I think this is enough to answer your question on Oedipus complex! But there are more points & controveries to discuss in this...

In case of a girl; a girl child feels powerless as she doesn't possess an organ like her father. She feels bad of her mother to make her like her. She doesn't want to be the same powerless like her mother. So, she develops an attraction towards her father, who she thinks is powerful. She loves to spend time with her father. This all fine... but the controversy is that it was said she likes to bear the child of her father, and espescialy a male child as a substitute for her lacking organ.

Only bias in Freud theory is that he says, ' The world is around the male organ'. The ultimate power is centered towards the male organ. Instead of thinking male have something extra.., it was said male is complete and female lacks something! But, it's because of the way female has been thro' thousands of years forming a society.

I'm not sure I've answered you! I couldn't get your question itself..! I don't know you know all these! I just explained you my understanding of Freudian Theory. If you have got something more..., I welcome your feedback!! :-)
