I wouldn't give him back the rawhide. I would substitute another type of treat instead. Rawhide should only be given while you are there to supervise him because once they start chewing on this stuff it becomes slimy and can stick in his throat and he could choke to death. I have seen this happen in my own dog once and I had to reach down his throat and pull it out. That was the last time I ever gave him rawhide. What scares me is what if I had not been home to get it out of his throat. There are all kinds of wonderful chew toys and treats that are safer for our precious furbabies, so check them out at your local pet store!

Maybe put another one where he's looking and he'll think he's found it. Instruct,,, don't yell,, and use a spppccc sound,, like on "Dog Whisperer" to teach him at least not to put it in your bed.
Patience and guidence and common sense on trainging a dog,, and teach "yourself" to be the pack leader. You make the rules. Something that might be cute may become a terrible habit later.
Good luck to ya.
I have a 130 lb. American Bred Bulldog,, and by golly,, she knows I'm the boss. But it was done with love from the very beginning. She knows every word I say,, my motions,, my facial expressions,, sometimes,, just down right scary smart.
Let us know!!! She's almost 5,, and had her since she was 7 weeks old. I love her to pieces!!
Sorry I rambled.

First of all-don't give him rawhide if you're not home. He could choke on it while your gone. Try nylabones..they're safe and most dogs love them! I would try to distract him from the spot on your bed though, that could turn into a really bad habit. Maybe put a couple new toys in different spots, like a Kong with a treat that he loves in it and a nylabone...See what happens!

Yes. Give it back. I have a dog who does that too. Its in their nature to bury things and retrieve them later. I would give him the soft treats, I always worry about my dogs choking when the rawhide gets small.

You probably should go for smaller chew toys. How sweet... our pups have the same name!
