Okay, so I've been on to this Religion & Spirituality section for a while.
Why is it neccessary for so many people to use it as a way to bash other religions?
I mean, people are going far out of their way to "prove Christions wrong" and say "Muslims are terrorists" and such.
Why are they trying to make us look stupid for believing in a certain religion or way?
...Because, really it doesn't work. It just proves they are jerks.
So, tell me, people of Yahoo! Answers...
Why are many of these people so insistent on bringing others down because of our beliefs?

what would you like those 'Bad' chistians to be called? I am aware there are decent christians. Even decent christians are aware there is a large number of pshycotic fanatical fundamentals, The problem is, moderate christianity has a 'its not right to judge' mentality, that gives these other christians the freedom to thrive. They not only want to ruin the lives of non believers, but other christians also. They are mean and very politically motivated to have your theology forced on non believers. Moderate christians dont wanna judge, but I sure as hell do. So I target 'christians' because this may come as a surprise to you but they no doubt think they are more christian than you and you will also end up suffering under christian authority. I call them christians because that is want they want to be called. You know you hate them also, but your not allowed to feel that way right? Maybe 'good' christians can come up with a new title.

Confusing isnt it. I would ask the evil christians to change their titles but I cant see that happening, they are christians also

The reason so many people have difficulty with other people's religions, is for the simple fact that they lack faith and confidence in their own belief's.
If you think about it, there is no necessary reason to bash anothers belief, unless that belief is harmful to others. All mainstream institutional religions, believe that love and forgiveness is the main key to life, and that strong moral standing is the way to live.
So either they bash one another for ethnic and cultural reasons, disguised as religious righteousness, or they do not have enough faith in their own religion, to understand that, other religions are not a threat to theirs.
Faith and tolerance is what all mainstream religions supposedly teach, but it seems to be breeding intolerance of others, showing the lack of faith of their "believers".
PERSONAL NOTE from me, I don't believe in bashing others belief's, and I have solid faith in what I believe. I find it good that people have a religion if that is what they believe, and I find it good also that atheist are asking a lot of hard core questions concerning mainstream religions. This is an evolution milestone for religious beliefs and science. Soon I believe the two will merge, and all will become more clearer to this planets inhabitants.

When I see someone debunking evolution when they are unable to display even a basic knowledge of the subject, it irritates me.
When someone innocently asks a question such as Why are all athiests evil, or why are all atheists dead inside? How are they expecting that they will not receive negative reactions?
It's not Religion I have a problem with, it's people that use religion as an excuse to preach bigotry and hatred-- Which is basically what it has seemed to become for far too many people.

The denial for spiritual need in ones life. Anger is a secondary emotion normally based in fear... Regardless of the extent of ones education,, this need can only be met in one place.
There are a few articulate, intelligent people willing to answer questions based on their life experience.
Personally I feel there are better suited venues for actual arguments.. The ones who make hateful statements here are cowards, who won't get involved in a chat room type setting where a continuous conversation can take place..
A differing opinion is not hate.

You'll notice it's always the nonbelievers that do it. It doesn't make any sense to me why they even come here if they don't believe in anything anyway. Yes they are jerks, probably some of the biggest jerks there could possibly be. Their the type of people that like to destroy anything good in this world in order for them to feel good about it. Alot of them have been getting baned lately, hopefully all of them will over time. The intelligent people here are very nice to chat with and willing to discuss with you about any religion in order to learn about it. The nonbelievers screw it up for everyone, makes me wonder if they are good for anything since they waste every ones time being here. They should be reading or something in order to become intelligent themselves, but that's work their not going to do that. They are just ignorant and always will be. I've seen people come here asking for help because a loved one had died and the nonbelievers give them hell, they don't care about anything not even another persons feelings when their child has died.

I understand how you feel. I actually come to this section to help people learn the truth about spiritual things, and hopefully guide them away from God and religion altogether so they can lead happier lives.
You should see some of the vulgar perverted sickening replies I receive from religious people, but then I understand that these people suffer from mental illness and lack of intelligence, and so, perhaps their behaviour, although irrational, has a rational explanation. I hope the following helps ease your pain and suffering.
Atheists are more intelligent than religious believers.
My own observation and analysis of the various posters on Yahoo Answers clearly reveals that Atheists are without any doubt, far more intelligent, thought provoking, and capable of holding sensible debate compared to their religious counterparts.
My private research studies indicate that religious people tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. This also seems to be supported by profiling various YA religious posters.
Science suggests that religion is a mental illness and that religious people act irrationally because they are genetically predisposed to the “religious or spiritual” gene. Statistics indicate that the higher your education, income, and intelligence, the more likely you are not to believe in a god.
In general terms, this summarises as Atheists are intelligent and religious people suffer from madness.

It's a state of mind... people thinking theirs is the true religion and trying to convert others to theirs. I'm a christian and I get irritated with too when fellow christians bashed other religions like islam and judaism....atheist included. It's really a turn-off especially those who answers questions on here with....."you need Jesus in your life.......blah blah blah ...so judgmental.

People like it when the can convert or put someone else down who can't defend themselves. It gives them a sense of power, and let's look at the demographics of this "religion and spirituality" section: majority are Christians, then come atheist/agnostics, then muslims, then jews, then wicca/pagan, then other religions you never hear about, and then Amish.....

Becuase it's one of the few places where people from various affiliations come together. Even if to try and convert each other - or preach hate.
Try posting something funny on a Christian board - VERY closed minded. Or a mophammad cartoon link on a n muslim board.
