My ex boyfriend broke up with me a year and a half ago when I moved away from college. He continues to call me and we have remained friends with benefits but he does not always show his love for me when I am in town. He'll say he is busy...yet tells me he misses me and asks when I am coming to visit. I still love him and its tempting to call (even when I am at school) but I don't know if I should call him anymore or cut it off. I still love him so much though and think we might be able to get back after I graduate but right now its so hard for me to move on and date other people. Any advice??

probably best if you tell him how you feel about maintaining contact. you will never move on if he keeps calling you and giving you hope of a future relationship

I think you need to talk to him. I've done the whole "still together"/"friends with benefits" after breaking up with someone. Its not a fun situation to be in. Its so confusing and frustrating! Obviously you do want to be with him so I think you should lay it out for him. I would tell him 'All or nothing'. If you want more you should have a relationship with him, but if thats not what he wants I would move on to someone that does want a relationship becuase what you're doing right now really sucks and its stressfull and very hard to go through.

Unfortunately you are letting your feelings for him cloud your judgment. To put it bluntly, you are being used. If he truly cares for you his entire attitude would be different. He would be caring and always have time for you.
You must open your eyes and not let this go on any further. It will be hard but you just have to dig in and regain your self respect. He truly does not deserve you. It is only the "benefits" he is interested in.
Now is the time to dig in with your studies, concentrate on your future and keep your eyes on the big picture. Hold your head high and kep stepping. focus on a new set of goals and please don;t call that user again.

You should move on. This kind of relationship is no good for either one. Year and a half is long enough. You've given it enough time to work. It hasn't, so find someone else.

He is getting what he wants from this relationship....sex.
What are YOU getting?
A man who ignores you unless you are giving him what he wants. Your needs and wants and desires mean nothing to him.
Say good bye....for good.
Take some time for yourself. Do what YOU want. Concentrate on YOUR life.
After a while, then move on.

Yeah, move on and date other people. Your not his friend, he just see's you as a benefit. He's using you for sex and laughing about it with his buddies about how stupid you are. I'm not saying you are stupid, but I bet he is saying that. I'm sure you're really sweet and he's taking advantage of you.
