Its hard to distinguish from fact or fiction however grapefruit has enzymes that are used in weight loss pill and programs like everything it plays a part in a healthy diet any citrus fruit are good for digestion are do break down fat into more digestible particles.
Another rumour is Chili and it has been proven to increase your metabolism (the rate which you burn calories) however it only works for about an hour and it is very small.
So you would be better increasing your metabolism more effectively for longer lasting results such as increasing activity and exercise eating frequently small healthy meals and getting enough sleep.

Well...nothing but that's not a food and you could die...so I would say Yeah Grapefruit without sugar and count it as a meal like breakfast. And find something else that's healthy and can feel you up during lunch and dinner. Try some light jogging to. The secret is to lose more that you can gain...its so simple I know but you will lose weight if you can do that.

The best foods for weight loss are large quantities of vegetables. Fill yourself up until you are full with vegetables and you will lose weight. Check out "Eat to Live". I think that the grapefruit thing is a myth. There are lots of "lose weight fast" myths out there. The bottom line is that you need to be taking in less calories than you burn but if you take in too few calories, your body will think it is starving and will lower it's metabolism (the rate at which it burns calories) in order to protect you. Therefore, make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories a day if you want to lose weight.

It's a myth, the best food for weight loss is just eating 5 small meals a day and exercising daily.

Grapefruit is good, yes. You need a balanced diet with the grapefruit. Stick to lean white meats, fish, seafood without butter, high fibre, whole wheat breads, cereals, lots of fruits and vegtables, fat free milk products, yogurt. If you choose the right things, you can eat and be full and still lose weight.

I don't like grapefruit whatsoever.
Merely by accident, I discovered that fresh pineapple is an appetite suppressant for me. Fresh pineapple tastes much better than canned. You can often find it in the stores. already cored in a plastic tub in the produce area. Try it. :)
