GE 6:13 - And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
GE 6:17 - And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
Seems to me that God (for believers) is annoyed with humanity other than his buddy Noah, and decides to kill (murder) every living thing on the face of the earth, except of course Noah and his family - got to have a few friends left.
God allowed women raped and your little children slaughtered.

How any decent person can believe and follow the Bible is beyond imagination, seems like religious people just ignore the bits they dislike and twist the rest into a happy delusion, much like the behaviour of drug addicts.
The Bible encourages self-mutilation.
Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Perhaps people can understand why so many religions are nothing more than savage cults, because this practise still goes on today. Even women get stoned to death in some countries for having an affair or fling with some sexy guy.

We should not allow ears of children to hear what adults should be intelligent enough to understand.Children need to be taught about God by example moreso.
The not sitting with the men along the wall of knowledge that eat their own s*hit and piss probably means do not sit with fools that feed on their own selfishness and disgusting ways.Just as bread and honey means spiritual values and teachings.

The account in 2 Kings is relating the words of Rabshakeh, an Assyrian, who is trying to talk the Jews in Jerusalem into surrendering to the Assyrians.
He is trying to paint a picture of how bad things will become in the city, if they don't surrender. However, the Jews do not surrender and God sends an angel to deliver his people from the Assyrians so that not an arrow is fired into the city.
The Bible is not recommending this type of language but showing how unbelievers use it to discredit God.

The original Bible and the Torah should be differentiated form the present books which are claimed to be the real thing. The Bible was compiled from a number of sources out of which some were 'divine' rest were man made .

Do you live in the world? Look around you. Do you see things going on that aren't very pleasant? Why would you think the bible, which reflects the history of a people over thousands of years, would not have unpleasant things in it, too? We live in a world where there are wars and there are people that do things that aren't very nice. All through time this has happened. The bible not only is given by inspiration of God, it reports what really happened.

Just because there is something in the Bible doesn't mean that's what God wants. I mean, the story of Soddam and Gomorrah (sp?) is in the Bible, and it tells of terrible homosexual people who performed immoral acts, but the Bible isn't saying that's what's right. I mean, look what happened. It was destroyed with burning sulphur. It's in the Bible, yes, but it's not saying all of that is what you should do.
