The biblical answer is found in II Corinthians 9:7, "Each of you must give what you have decided in your heart, not with regret or under compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver." Therefore, if you choose in your heart to designate the offering, so be it.

yes. there are 3 tithes, 1. to the church-- you are responsible to find the church, cause your money supports what they do that means you are responsible for your churches deeds if they are evil.. 2. your healthcare and retirement .. 3 your personal vacation fund especially to be used during the sabath year where you are supposed to rest your fields, and during Jubilee year where you are supposed to free all your slaves..... Don is also sorta right in that Jesus' sacrifice made all thithes voluntary and no longer mandatory..
